Well my 2004 Prius is finally going up for sale. Bought it new and 250,000 miles later...we decided on a new Prius v. Sabrina at Fordham Toyota, Bronx, NY handled everything online and worked hard to find us a clear sky metallic Five with AT. Not easy to get around here. I recommend her. Added some painted mud flaps so far, and ordered some Husky liners.
So your 04 lasted ten years, perhaps the 14 will be traded in 2024! You will like the improvements over the second generation, more power and stability among others. So what did you get for the 04 with 250k as a trade-in or as a sale? Also what major repairs were required in 250k of driving?
We are about to put the Prius on craigslist...dealer wouldnt offer very much i suspect.... Our old Prius just had usual oil and tire changes, engine and hybrid water pump, rear wheel bearings, struts and a muffler. I maintained it myself. Very reliable!
Just dressup the 04 and it will sell quick... Link to Prius Race Cars in 2004: Toyota Prius Race Car - Car News - Car and Driver
ah, i never would have known. those are worth some big bucks, i see them on the mecum auction every now and again.
Johnptr, congrats on Prius v (lowercase v). I just purchased as well. May we both get 250,000 like your old one! Curious, what came with your new car? This is the extend of what I received .... - Vinyl curtain cover (for back) - Cargo strap - 3 car mats (2 fronts & 1 middle) - NO cargo net - NO cargo mat Thanks
I got the same as you but I also got a cargo mat...that cargo strap is actually to secure the 17 inch tire if you get a flat. I guess it doesn't fit in the well like the smaller prius tire does so it gets secured on top of cargo area. I did order the mats when I bought car though along with wheel locks. The cargo net is an accessory you can still buy.
