I have been using prius (year 2004) for about 4 months. I'm very happy with this car. It's about due for regular maintenance, do we have go to Toyota for the service? Are they expensive? What about regular workshop? Does anyone know or can recommend a good workshop in Melbourne, Australia? Thanks
I personally would not go to a non Toyota mechanic for Prius maintenance in Australia, simply because there are too few of them for non Toyota mechanics to have much experience. The service cost will depend on the nature of the service that's required at your kilometres. My gen III can vary from $130 to $700. I personally don't know any of the Melbourne dealers but I do know that some Melbourne owners bring their Prius up to Castlemaine Toyota.
