Android Pure 4.2 Radio Non-JBL USA install

    If you check my install instructions you hook up the parking wire to a screw on the radio frame and that will bypass and alow you to watch while driving

    Thanks, perhaps my installer didn't do that part. Did you have a cable (from the car) that fit in the antenna part at the back of the unit? My installer couldn't find the cable that would go in there.

    It is standard antenna that you disconnect from the old and plug in back of the new. That is odd he didnt find it. Now is your installer a pro or someone trying to help out.?

    Someone trying to help out, he showed me the back of the old head unit antenna port, it looked different to the back of the new.

    Thanks but I could not see a connection like that. And I also didn't notice at first that my steering wheel controls no longer work, and it looks like it hasn't been done right. The seller emailed me the diagram and he seems to have missed doing those parts (like the pink cable as another example) and even though I bought the USB extension cable he couldn't bring it to the passenger side underneath so I didn't get that either. Grrr......

    I think I may need something like this because the white plug looks like what was in the original unit. This is a adapter for a Toyota factory antenna connection to aftermarket radio car antenna.

    So the seller should be sending over the missing usb cable (purple). It seems the wiring is different for 2013 model for the steering wheel. You are the second person who have same thing with the steering control. The seller told the other one the wiring that needs to be connected. I would suggest you and the other guy on this post to email the seller and see if they can come up with a new harness with the right wiring pins hooked up for your model year. Seems they need to make a different harness for people that have 2013 models.

    I can try to look at schematics to help you guys out to hook up the wires.
    If anyone need help in los angeles area with these mods give me a holler

    Try unplugging the connector for the steering wheel which is one of 3 plugs that is connected to one large plug on aft left side. It will be the one with 2 brown and 1 black wire. See if you still have the problem of the usb stick unmounting and the popping noise coming out of standby.

    What did the seller say when you told them the issues you are having? You and ilovemyprii should write and request the seller to make a new harness for the 2013 model since it is not wired right for 2013 model.

    It seems you might be right with that adapter if you dont have the standard connection.

    So far the only thing that i am having is the microphone for bluetooth. The person you are talking to is not too clear on thier phone. They come in clear when they talk on the phone. The seller is gonna send me a new mic unit..hopefully soon.

    I got the steering wheel buttons working by cannabilizing a AX-TOY28SWC SWC. I just followed the pin outs I posted before or refer to this pic http://priuschat.com/attachments/fig-1-jpg.48729/. It got the factory aux working too. I think it's 2012 model and onward got the new 28 pins. Also, on techinfo, it shows model 2011 and 2013 steering wheel button signal have different voltage. Not sure about the risk there.

    lol..seller only told me to plug in cable to factory button wires. She didn't even reply me about the fan problem.

    Same here. The mic is pretty bad. The other end keep telling me is very noisy (think it's the whiny fan). I tried attaching an external mic but didn't help neither since internal mic connection didn't get cut off. Is the seller sending you a whole new unit or there's some replaceable part for the internal mic??

    I use spotify and waze. They're working fine. Just steering wheel media button cannot control 3rd party apps like spotify. there is 3rd party app on xda that can help with the media button problem but not perfect.

    She said she is gonna send a mic module which needs to be replace inside the radio..havent got exact date of shipping... I will open up the radio and replace it. Hopefully plug and play. I will take some pics of inside of radio. Yes the external mic dosent cut out built in mic. The fan is kinda loud but dont think that is cause.. When i open up i will see if i can put a pot switch in series with the fan to control speed.

    Its really a good radio just have to iron out the mic and they have to make different harness for the 2013 people

    Depends if seller sent you correct harness for steering wheel button and antenna. Not sure about the mic. keep your fingers crossed. To control spotify / other music apps from steering wheel button, search "CarServiceNoAutoPlay.apk xda" on google and first result. It's kind of buggy but that's the only app I can find for this.

    I'm installing the unit now but noticed there are about 3-4 wires that don't seem to fit in the back of the Android head unit. Did you use all wires for your install?

    I noted on my guide that you dont have use all the wires that they send you. They all should fit. Refer to the pic ontop of radio. Can u take pic of wires that dont fit?
