Hi! ive been searching the forum for info on the weight of the rim itself. But seems like im only able to find info on complete Wheels..... im gonna get some new summer wheels/rims , and try to find some thats not heavier than the original anyone who knows the weight of just the rims ? cheers Andreas
OEM Weight: 6.5kg (14.3# ea.) The Goodyear Integrities weigh 17 lbs, for a total of 31.3 lbs. Size: 15x6JJ, PCD 100mm, 5 Holes, offset 45mm 185/65R15's = 24.5" OD The Goodyear Eagle F1 DSG3s weigh 22 lbs (5 lb weight penalty).
I have never heard of OEM 16" wheels on a Prius they come with 15's. We have all seen the 17" optional wheels w/tires labled 17" EFPC Wheel, which is a alloy wheel and pirelli tire combo that is installed at the dealer. I googled it and just got several returns regarding Prius car options... Ahhh, found it ! Toyota is exclusively using Enkei 16" & 17" wheels, Toyota has been offering the 16" optional wheels on the Matrix.... I guess you would need to check the Enkei web site for wieght.. I hope this helps, Good Luck!
The OP's location indicates he is in Norway, and I recall hearing the Prius is fitted with more performance-oriented tires/rims over there, but I could be mistaken. Unfortunately though, I do not have the answer to his question... - Kevin
Ehh,.. anywhere but NA gets 16" alloys mounted on 195/60R16 tyres (I believe they're Michelin Pilots). The also have a plastic cover like ours but while ours is a ring, theirs is an entire cover. andreaswin, why don't you search for the weight of those Michelin tyres then subtract that from the total weight?
yes if been thinking of that,,, was just hoping some had measured the weight of them ... il se what i can find out , and post the result Yes we get them with 16" as standard here.....looks nice aswell http://www.dinside.no/php/art.php?id=105726&bid=2 Andreas
