After watching a few Russian dashcam compilations on Youtube, we bought a dashcam of our own. Traffic is not so violent here, but interesting non the less. We went to this site and followed the advice of the reviewer, Techmoan. Techmoan - Techmoan The camera installed fine and the image quality is good. The only problem is a bit of reflection in the wind shield. We could put a black cloth on the dash, but that would not be practical. Then I thought a polarizing filter might do the trick. But who makes that small cpl filters? And one that fits this particular camera? Solution: Order a small cpl filter on ebay. Remember your dashcam is wide angle I ordered a 37 mm. Maybe too much... Then find your local 3D printer person through: http//3D Hubs: Local 3D printing services and 3D Printers And ask him/her to make you a cone shaped plastic part to your specification. Something like this, just smaller Glue the cone to the outside of the lens Glue the cpl filter to the cone Rotate cpl to reduce reflections. ----------------------- This is where I should have a picture of a finished mod, but... Vacation time. I'll be back with an update iPad ?
That's a good idea. Will have to check this out as I'm looking at these. Is there no software adjustment that can be done once installed? edit: never mind. Read more at dashcamtalk and there's quite a lot of discussion on this including 3d printed adapters. Wild.
