Change my oil

    am Just wondering how to change oil every 5-8 k mil !!
    my prius 2008 japan with 5-30 fully synthetic consume the oil with each 2000 KM consume about 1 Litter
    and i change the oil every 3000 KM not mile !!!

    That's a pretty high oil rate of consumption, I'd probably be topping off about every 1000km if it were mine. You can still go longer than 3000 km between oil changes, you just have to keep oil on hand and keep it topped off.

    If you're in a very warm climate you could always try going up a grade and see if 10w40 slows the consumption at all.

    If you are using full synthetic 5W-30 oil:

    1. Check engine oil level and replenish as needed every 1000 km as previously suggested
    2. Drain and replace the oil and oil filter at 13,000 - 14,000 km intervals (7.8K - 8.4K miles.) There is no need to change the engine oil at 3,000 km intervals unless you work for the oil industry and like to use its products to excess.

    ok but the consumption is very high since for the interval of 3000 km the car just have 1.5 litter of oil !!!
    and regarding the manual as attached picture this situation is normal !!
    am just adding 1 litter each 2000 km to keep the level of oil within the range !

    my car is Prius 2008-6 with 120000 Km from Europe

    1.as you mention, that's what am doing am just adding 1 litter each 2000 km .
    2. change the oil filter each oil change ( 3000 Km ) . but this changing method keep your engine better !

    Your engine was damaged by its prior owner, apparently - and changing the engine oil every 3,000 km is not going to help it to get better.
