Anyone know of an available touch-up paint for the Prius Plus 17" wheels? I got a small curb rash on one and it now looks black, having scraped off a bit of the dark chrome finish. I think it would look acceptable if I am able to touch that up so that the spot does not look black but I don't know what color touch up paint (or a paint pen) that would match. Any ideas?
That's going to be a tough DIY. Best to contact any car dealer that uses wheel repair guys. I'm not saying have the wheel reconditioned and repainted. They should be able to match the paint for a touch up at a reasonable cost,.
I have a chip on my Plus wheels as well. I did not bother touching it up and as it is forged aluminum (or so they say!), it won't rust. I'm sure there will be plenty more chips in the future so I'm not too concerned about the wheel's condition. Good luck.
Our silver body color stick is a perfect match for our 17" OEM rims, the 5 spoke ones, same as US 5 model. I just keep daubing it on. I has terrible results with the clear coat end tho, seems to dissolve the silver. I just use the color end.
I actually did bring it to a wheel repair shop who repairs wheels on some exotic cars like Ferraris and they said the color is what is typically referred to as a dark "hypersilver" but it looked like a custom color to him. He said he could repair the wheel but it might not match 100% so he recommended I just leave it as is, or replace the wheel.
