    Hi pEEf,
Could you please send the link to your TPMS Gen3 paperclip mod, and also how to recognize TPMS ECU ?

I have snow tires on, maybe 3 months of the year. They don't have tpms sensors, so the warning light goes on. It's little, less in my face than the passenger seat airbag status lights.

For the rest of the year I'm using the regular wheels, that have tpms. The system's working, the tpms light's off, and if does come on, it's 'cause there's a problem.

I can't understand this pursuit of disabling the light, just cargo cult.

I need a little more info on this procedure. First, does the entire black box ECU module need to be removed from the slot it is in? Secondly, if not, the pins I see are extremely tiny and I can't see how a paper clip would work without cross shorting something. I have a 2015 Gen 3. As far as I know, there are no "preset" buttons anywhere. I have scoured the forum and found nothing. If you could do a close up photo of what pins you are "jumping" it would be extremely helpful.

    Ok, gonna argue with myself:

In the US, some States require annual inspection and that light has to be out or you fail. There's a motivation, "Brazilian" as may be, but real.

Doesn't work anyway. Tried to get it to work and it doesn't. I will go to tire store and have it done. I don't have a leak. I think a battery or sensor on one of the tires is bad.

+1 StarCaller, this is a great hack. I just shut off the TPMS light on my new-to-me 2014 and had done so several years ago on my recently totaled 2010.

Perhaps Montgomery got the orientation backwards as pEEf notes in his post #66 on page 4.

Apologies. I interpreted your post 109 to mean you couldn't get the hack to work.

Well, that might be true, but one of the reasons I use a separate set of steel rims for my winter tyres is fear of damage to the sealing beads of the tubeless tyres if they are removed/installed twice a year. That, and the need to balance each time, and the fact that it is far easier to simply change the wheels each time rather than the tyres. As far as TMPS goes, I've expressed my views/solutions in many threads passim! (search is your friend!)

Tried the paperclip trick but no luck? Any input on what I might be doing wrong? IMG_8145.jpg

See Post #66 in this thread. You connected pins 2 and 12, not 5 and 7.

I just did this today and it works! I got new tires installed on Friday, and the installers must of damaged a TMPS sensor or something (maybe even removed them for all I know?). I adjusted the tire pressure in the lot before leaving and reset the TMPS, but the light didn't go out. The owner's manual said it might take some time for the light to go out after resetting, so I watched it as I drove an hour+ back to where I'm staying. It was not worth it for me to drive 1 hour back and try to prove that they screwed up and that everyone was fine with it when I arrived at the shop.

Guess I had it upside down??? I'll try swapping it, also is it the bigger or smaller hole it goes into?

You didn't have it upside down. You had it mirror image wrong because the drawing is the view from the back side of the connector (where the existing wires go in), if you consider your photo view the front side. If you look at your photo, use the lower/smaller of each pair of holes. I ended up using smaller wire than a paper clip so as not to widen the hole in case I ever change it back.
