Hey, I have been lurking around long enough to get Prius. I called ALL POSSIBLE dealerships in WA state(zip 98034) to see if I could order #8. Some were saying Toyota does not send #8 to west coast no more and some said they can try. I know if they try.. i'm going to die before I see my prius. I e-mailed toyota customer care but they didn't give me an answer. Instead they said prius is out of stock, blah blah blah. Due to my financial issue, I can't afford #9 but can afford #8. I really want navigation in my car(i am horrible with directions). Plus I do not want to get aftermarket because of various reasons.. So can someone please tell me how to get #8 ? Thanks
I was offered a tideland 8 here in TX. (turned it down, want a red 9) However, from what I hear on this sight and from dealers, all regions are only getting some option packages. At some point, whether in 2005 or 6, supply will catch up with demand. At that point, it'll be possible to get what you want. My only bit of advice, is be flexible if you can't wait.
thanks, I need the car before january. I already found several rural dealers than have less than 10 people on their waiting list with MSRP. So does anyone know more about this info? Thanks
stay with the rural dealers. Look in Oregon, Montana, anywhere you are able or willing to drive to to get a car. Under a locator search, enter just the state name and it'll pull up all the dealers in the state.
It's odd. In theory here in the Mid-Atlantic region, #8s are not one of the available options. However, many dealers I've seen have #8s as their demos or TRAC cars. It makes sense in a way because it has all the hands-on goodies, but costs a little less without the added safety stuff. I could have had one of those but I wanted a new one and I wanted the safety goodies. I would have been ok with a #7, but of course wound up with a #9. So, If you're ok with a 'used' one, that may be a way if your dealers are like mine.
Dealership close to mine also had #8 as a demo. I don't really care if I get demo for a grand or two cheaper but if I have to pay full price for thecar, I'd rather stick with a new #7. Thanks for your helps! But I can't seem to find a way to get a new #8. If anyone know more about this, please let me know.
Seems there are some 8's out there. Found this a few minutes ago on Prius 2G Yahoo Group: Good luck. They seem to be selling at MSRP plus the port option whcih are not very optional but at least you get something for you money. Gary said he could knock off the port stuff if he got a call soon. the other 2 said it was too late to take it off. Good luck and hurry and call before they are gone. Pat
