Just thought someone might think this was cool, if you were interested in the PRIUS emblem being illuminated: Rakuten: The emblem is not included in a - blue product in XXXX LIGHTING( four X writing) LED logo emblem (blue) Toyota (Toyota) prius ZVW30 May, 2009. [exterior equipment, others aero]- Shopping Japanese products from Japan
Kind of cool. I am going to try to make the lighted emblem thing work instead. If I can get that to work then this would be too much. Heck, I may think the lighted emblem is too much. I have the emblem light, just waiting for the stinkin' car.
the old familiar 'cart before the horse' thing, huh?! lol! Story of my life! My bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom are all PILED with boxes of stuff I bought to put on my Prius (before the fact). I have a hair salon built in my home right across from my sitting room, and a lady came in one day to get her hair cut and said, "Oh, my! All the boxes! Tell me you're not moving!" And it occurred to me that it really looks like I'm moving out! lol! I'm still a little worried myself about the whole lighting thing going on on my car, cause there's more wiring than I've seen in my life, and I just hope the electrical dude can figure it all out. So, you got a car ordered?
Very true! I forgot that the door sills have "PRIUS" illuminated on them. I had "TOYOTA" pictured in my mind, but it is "PRIUS".
lol! Too funny! Unless there is some secret spot on my car where the word "Prius" is written that I don't know about, my car's identity will forever be a mystery.....and that's my story......
Yep. THREE freakin' long months ago. It hasn't hit the dealership yet, perhaps this week. At least I have the VIN so I know the car really does exist. I've got new tires, rims, bumper protector, lower door trim, Valenti tail lights, etc., etc., etc., all waiting. I know that I would probably have none of this extra stuff if it weren't for the desperation / obsession that ensued during the long wait.
prob right! Having all the Prius "parts" laying around helped ease your grief over the LONG wait! Some things for the car are better than not having any car at all yet! lol
While I am pretty adept at reading Japinglish, "The literal translation of Japanese into English, resulting in Wth????" The emblem is not included in a - blue product in XXXX LIGHTING( four X writing) LED logo emblem (blue) Toyota (Toyota) prius ZVW30 May, 2009. [exterior equipment, others aero] Aero Parts 10000884 Regular Price: ¥6,300 (23% off) Price: ¥4,800 US$60.10 * (¥5,040 tax incl.) * Approximate price provided for convenience only. Payment will be charged in yen. So for $60+ bucks, just what do you get if "Emblem not included?"
Yep, it looks like it is just the light source and you re-use your existing emblem. That was the same for this one: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...what-just-came-in-mail-today.html#post1536390.
lol! That was worth getting up today just to laugh over! I totally agree over the translation thing that some of these websites show... Hilarious!
I need to locate more info on lighted emblems. Saw a post about the front emblem. Now the PRIUS name badge! My thoughts on this- I tinker with micro controllers and have several products and contemplating integrating a micro-controlled front emblem. Using a printed circuit board, bi-colored or tri-colored surface mount leds, a micro controller then program controller. Perhaps fading from white to blue, fading from blue in the center and fading to white from center to outside perimeter of emblem. Most any pattern could be done. First is procure a front emblem that will fit a Prius and hopefully the emblem can be made clear so leds can be seen. Designing a PCboard is not hard. Writing code to program the micro controller is fairly easy as well. Any links to info on the Prius emblem would be helpful. Going to local auto salvage totay to see if they have any Toyotas and perhaps procure an emblem.
Unfortunately I have to mention this...adding ANY light source where it is not designed by car manufacturer is illegal in most states and can cause you to get a ticket. Especially a blue light at the front of the car (emblem). - Alex
