What are those dots for? And the rear defrost, why are the lines not in the upper right hand corner even all the way across? I just seen this today and I was wondering.
My car has only one one of those dots at the top end of wiper. Sometimes the conductive tracings are used as antenna in addition to heating elements. I've heard that 2013 has improved radio and antenna. Could it be that? As for the asymmetry of the heating elements, they follow the contour of single wiper.
The dots are for automated glass production and installation equipment on the assembly line (alignment). Some of the traces that don't appear to connect to the defrost on both sides are antennas. And some of the things in there are to make people ask questions.
Stop it!!! You guys are making me paranoid. I just ran out and checked mine and don't see them. I thought at first you were talking about "transitions zones". Those are black borders around windshields and large rear windows in cars that go from solid black to small screened dots. Those are to alleviate temp expansion/contraction and help keep the water tight seal intact. The one on my Corolla is wider on the drivers side.
I am not sure but I think the black box has been in most cars for a long time. The car makers just did not want you to know. In a accident this info. might be good to know.
Haha. you guys are worst than the survival preppers and militia members on the gun forums I frequent! haha
