So yeah. I have a dead spider in my taillight. Of course I can't get to it! Any thoughts on how to remove the corpse? Ugggg!
I don't imagine he caught very many meals in there. Evolution in action. The way I see it (pun almost unintended) is that you have 2 choices: 1. "Canned air": Try to find the hole that the 'pider used to get into the tail lamp assembly. Stick the nozzle into the same hole and try to move the body. He'll still be in there, but you won't be able to see him as easily. 2. Drive in LA. California isn't a financially well run state. They have streets that will shake rust off of a screen door. You can try to use a rumble strip or some speed bumps to shake the corpse to the bottom of the tail lamp assy. 3. If you're really OCD and you just can't take it any more: Spend the $114 and replace the lamp. 1 and 3 I'll have to try, well 1 first and then if not 3. 2 has been tried for awhile now. I drive over speed bumps at home and work. I also drive over a really nasty stretch of road which they are finally going to repave. I'm talking about this road with it's pot holes and fixes are a death trap with the right conditions waiting to happen. If you're not hitting a pot hole you're hitting a too high 'fix'. Serious, it's 50MPH through there and all of a sudden it's like you're on a back country road somewhere that's never been paved! Thanks for the advice.
Yuck? It's just a spider, and a dead one at that. Chill out! Air is the only way. It will probably come out if you insert an air hose in a lamp socket hole (remove the lamp socket(s) of course). Canned air is less likely to do the trick. You need lots of air. As in a compressor. Remove all lamp sockets, install a short tube on the air nossle and insert as far as possible in the housing. Move it around as much as possible while it is blowing. If that doesn't work you could try removing the housing from the car and turning it upside down and tapping it gently to get the body to drop into an area of more room where you can blow or pick it out.
