My FOB is only unlocking my door. It's not locking doors. Anyone have this happen? Thought it might be the FOB battery. I changed it and still no locking, just unlocking.
I checked all the doors and none of them lock when I hit the button, nor can I hear the locks engage. Could it be the FOB? This thing looks weathered.
Do you have a second fob you can test with to rule out the solenoids and other stuff? Could be a bad contact in your primary fob for the locking button. SCH-I535
Are you able to lock the doors by using the lock/unlock button which can be found at the driver's and front passenger's armrests? If yes, then the fob is probably at fault. As previously suggested, use a second fob to confirm whether the first fob is at fault. If you don't have a second fob, then you are taking a big risk by only having one working fob: if you lose it you will pay big $$$ at your local Toyota dealer to get the car to recognize a new fob, without having a working fob available.
The manual lock switch on the doors work for lock, and unlock. I do only have the one FOB. Getting another is on top of the list. I just got the car 2 days ago. Thanks!
Does the lock button depress and spring back up? If it stays in the depressed form, it's just stuck and needs to be freed
And sometimes this is an early warning sign that the 12 V "aux." battery is getting weak. Long shot, probably, if nothing else is acting strange.
Hmmm, on my 08, there is a long never ending beep when I try to lock the doors and they are not shut all the way.
