Hi All, I first learned of the Enginer PHEV add-on for Prius here on Prius Chat, so I thought I'd post here about mine. Obviously, their system works and you can squeeze some extra mileage out of it. The downside is that busy folks like me don't end up plugging it in when they come home, so I am selling mine, if anyone is interested. Not sure it's even possible to remove or not... can it be removed?
I am a Scientist, I am working on the increase of Prius MPG, up to now, I have not had to do the Enginer, to get an average of 65 MPG highway and 75 MPG city. If you sell me your Enginer, for reasonable, then I will insult you how I got my Prius to the point it is now and you never plug it in, you never have to assist the Prius and Zero Emissions, really occur. I just want to prove or disprove the Plug In Conversion Myth, I do not want to pay full price but I would like to know if this scientific proof will bare out, that adding a Li Ion battery, is really worth the costs vs the savings. All my innovations, cost the owner, about $700, then you must change your spark plugs every 100,000 miles and always use Michellan Energy Saver Low Rolling Resistance Tires, again, you never have to Plug In, the mileage in the city is even better, if you learn to Pulse and Glide, hyper miling. consult
That's inaccurate. "mpg" refers to miles per gallon of fuel. When you add plug-in energy to the calculation, it's like cheating to say that it all came from the fuel.
