I been getting crazy good mileage in town lately, 67 mpg Monday commute (6 miles), 72 mpg commute today (6 miles) and 82 mpg for 11.2 miles at lunch yesterday, WOW. Easily getting 500 miles on a tank these days. Hwy of course kills the average as I often travel 8 hours, 500 miles one way on weekends. Only gets 51-52 mpgs at 70 mph

Yes, speeds between 25 mph and 43 mph is where the C really shines, as that's the place where you'll go into EV mode most. But even at speeds up to 50, you'll still see mpg in the same area. Watch the 5 mile consumption gauge for a while and you'll see. The bar will jump around a lot depending on how smooth of foot you are, and on the terrain, but you'll even see it in the 80s and 90s briefly as well. 51-52 mpg at 70 mph is about right. Amazing little car.

where is this bar located? Ive never noticed it!Still getting 60 mpg on my commute to and from work in traffic no problem, started not using AC but opening window instead, not sure how much it helps but Ill take 60 mpgs all day long!!!!!!!!!!! Seems at 60 mph on the hwy it gets 56-58 mpg too.Im getting 62 to 65 mpg on each trip to/from work for 2 weeks now. Turning off the AC and opening the windows seems to be a success, I was barely eaking out 53 mpg with the AC running. I even got 72 mpg on the same trip into work today (less traffic = lesss stop n go)

I've seen some numbers like that on short to medium trips too.

Don't get too excited though as the displayed numbers seem to be farther off from reality the higher that they get.

You still have to take total miles driven divided by the number of gallons you put back in the tank to get a true number.

yes, the tank ended up yielding 55.2 mpg upon fillup, and the computer said 57.3 mpg. I always assume -2mpg from what the computer says per trip. I got 491 miles and it took 8.9 gallons. I filled up as I was on the way to the beach. Got disappointing mpgs to/from the beach, only went 60-70 mph and only got 50.57 mpg (based on actual fillup not computer). For some reason even in the 60 mph zones computer said barely getting 50-52, usually I get 58 at 60 mph. It was hot humid, used AC, dry and relatively flat so I do not know why such a drop?

When going to and from the beach there usually is a change in altitude; maybe so gradual that you don't notice.
Down toward the beach; UP going back from the beach.
Also there often are prevailing winds that might be a factor too.

My best tank so far is 55mpg on the meter. 53+mpg based on tank calculation. 450+ miles per tank. I had not reach 500 mile/tank yet. I think 55 mpg is max out for me. It is hard to get more mpg and keep up with traffic flow at the same time. Driving like 80 year-old and let everyone passing by is definetely not my style.

    >>>Driving like 80 year-old and let everyone passing by is definetely not my style.<<<

Didn't used to me be mine either. I was as aggressive as they come. Left lane driver, tailgating, always went as fast as the rest of the traffic in that lane, passing slowpokes on the right when they wouldn't pull over. It used to take speeds of 90 or better to get me out of the left lane.

But even before buying the C, I had started to moderate that somewhat. Finally saw the light on tailgating, and stopped that. But after buying the C, it quickly became obvious that driving at speeds over 75 was not going to be as pleasant an experience as it was in my previous car. After getting the C, and being constantly reminded of what certain driving habits were doing to the gas mileage by those damn dashboard gauges, well, I succumbed. Now, 75 is pretty much my top speed unless I am really in a hurry, and usually keep it under 72, as that seems to be the tipping point between under or over 50 mpg.

So I still have my radar detector on the dash, and still drive in the left lane, but move over if traffic wants to go over 72. I am perfectly content in the middle lanes watching the gas mileage numbers rise into the upper 50s and even 60s when the weather is warm, while I tell the entertainment system to please "play genre rock" as led Zeppelin, the Stones, and Santana wale from the speakers.

I wonder how long it will be before that old cliche morphs into "driving like a hybrid owner".

Surprisingly, I didn't see any slow or annoying prius around here yet. I saw a same color C on the street, but this guy was so agressive and smart driver. He left me in the dust before I have a chance to say hi.

my last tank was my best yet!!!! And included at least 180 miles highway with about 20 miles each way going up and down mountains. 56.2 mpg calculated from fillup. 504.o miles. 8.96 gallons. and the computer said 56.9 so was fairly accurate.

I just got mine 2 weeks ago, a still brand new 2013 C2 that a dealer had left over. Got a great price on it, sticker $24k & change discounted down to $18,400. Gas mileage keeps getting better the more I drive it. I now have about 500 miles on it and the mpg keeps going up. I drive 11.1 miles each way to work and I was happy to see mpg of 51 for the trip the first week, but last night I got 55 mpg for the same 11.1 mile commute. I took it on its first sort of mainly freeway trip over the weekend and still averaged 50+ mpg. I love this little thing!

Wife drove it some yesterday, and she turned off the eco mode for some reason (Grrrr...)
I drove it to work this morning with the eco mode back on, and the mpg dropped to 48? I had been getting up to 55 mpg on my 11 mile commute. After driving in non eco then switching back, does it take time to re-adjust to get back to the better fuel efficiency?

I get 60+ every time I drive in the city these days, so long as the trip exceeds 3-6 miles.

MPG keeps getting better for me.
59.6 for my 11 mile drive home from work today. And I was thinking I was heavy on the acceleration today.

ECO is primarily increasing the amount of gas pedal travel, to get a given reaction from the engine. Personally, with the hatchback at least, I find ECO gas pedal travel way too much. You can easily get same mpg with the ECO button off.

Did 150 mile trip up to camp at 5500 feet from Charlotte at about 650 ft. Got about 51 mpg at 70 mph until I hit the mountains. It was about 46mpg for the 150 mile trip. On the way back home, same 150 miles, I got 73 mpg for the trip by the time I got home. Going down hill plus going 55-59 just to see what Id get combined to get me the best 150 mile mpg I ever got. Trip for 150 miles took 3 hours and 10 minutes, about 34 miles on the BRP, then I26 then US74 the I85 to CLT. The average for the trip was 300 miles and 59 mpg. Still got about 200 miles more before I refill the tank.
