Got our stickers today and the directions say to place all four on car sent in 2/21 check cashed 3/13 stickers arrived 3/17 #52572
I'm getting worried that mine could be lost in the mail. I sent out my application on 2/14. Check cashed on 2/27. Still no stickers yet...
I think our stickers are lost together. I sent out my application on 2/8 and the check was also cashed on 2/27. Still no stickers. I printed out a copy of the cashed check (front & back), filled out another application, wrote another check, and included a note about the cashed check & no stickers received, and mailed them all out together with the hope that I might get lucky this time and actually receive the stickers I paid for.
I'm in the same boat too. :-( My check was cashed on 2/28 but I still haven't received the stickers. When I called DMV, they said my car showed no such record of having received the check and application. They asked to print out a copy of the front and back of the encashed check and take it to the local DMV. Apparently the local DMV will honor the check and do whatever is needed at this point. Has anybody ever tried going to the local DMV with copies of their encashed check?
I hadn't thought of doing that...I heard via some other posts on here that local DMV's weren't of much help in finding out about sticker statuses, so I just assumed that I wouldn't even attempt to contact them about it. As much fun as going to the DMV is, I might have to do that if my 2nd check gets cashed and still no stickers. At least now one can make an appointment with the DMV online, so the wait has been minimized. It's the effort of actually driving there that fails to motivate me.
I'm getting worried too but I guess i shouldn't complain yet since my check was cashed only 12 days ago. By the way is there a correlation between receiving license plates and receiving HOV stickers? Should I expect my plates first? Or they can come in any order? -Adriano
do not know about that. I just got my plates yesterday 3/20. I purchased my car on 2/8, on the same day that I mailed the first HOV application + check. Still stickerless.
I called DMV today. The lady told me that it'll take 6-8 weeks for the stickers to arrive. They won't even investigate if it's less than 8 weeks since I sent in the application. It's getting like one of those rebates you sent in... You wait and you wait and the rebate never comes.... I hope I can get it before the law expires in Jan 2008 :lol:
Most people seem to get their stickers before their plates. However, I got my sticker about a 1.5 weeks after my plates.
Well, I did go to the local DMV and they were absolutely no help. They said they can send in the info to Sacramento or I can resend my application (no need to send new check). Apparently, if I send it ,it will be quicker and if they send it, it will be 60-90 days. Unbeliuevable. 2 different responses from 2 DMV people so far and none trying to figure out the problem. Does anyone have a number for the special processing unit where I can call to find out exactly what I need to do?
