Brand new 2014 Prius Plug in. I am getting about 45 mpg on a 14-mile all-city trip and 46 mpg on a 30-mile mixed hwy/city trip. The mpg numbers are from the information display when the car were turned off. Is that normal? I thought it's supposed to be about 50 mpg. Btw, ECO mode was enabled.
It's all estimates at this point. And the car computer has very little data to work with. Figure the real mileage out after your first fill up.
Not yet. The dealer did not charge up the car when I took delivery. Only have the car a coupon of days and less than 50 miles on the odometer... CA if you meant state. Both trips were under very warm (80-90 deg) weather.
Plug it in when ever you can, and you will probably get between 55-65 mpg or better! Enjoy your new car!
I have a Plug In Advance with the 17" five spoke Prius wheels. In hybrid mode I always get low to mid 50s mpg. Several days ago, out of EV charge, driving 65 mph and averaged 63 mpg. Plug yours in, and enjoy 999 on short trips.
With my 34 mile round trip, which is more highway than not, I get anywhere from 115 to 200+ mpg on the end of trip display this time of year. The charge is $.50 at home and $.00 at work. Start charging that battery.
