For those of you on the fence about trying this app, do it! It's well worth it just to get rid of that damned reverse beeping, not to mention all the other customizations. The OBD functionality is just the icing on the cake.

I'm working on it! I got the doohickey device thingybob today. I am at the "learn how to turn on the Samsung tablet" phase.

Ok, I have the app installed. Can I just go ahead and purchase the make-it-happen capability without hooking up to my car, and just worry about fiddling with changes later?

Yes, get it while it's cheap, although it is a good deal even at the higher price.

Well, nevermind. My husband who is even less tech savvy than I am can not remember his google password, or if he ever even set up a google account, and all efforts to go through the send me a password thing have failed. My laptop has bluetooth, but that's not working out either since it seems to be an android app even though my laptop is all, "I can see the device."

I even thought I had a workaround. I added my google account to his device. The thing is that the in app purchase still prompts his sign in which is no good. Any quick and dirty suggestions for how to get the tablet to ask for MY password? The account is added.

Tonight is the first time I've ever dealt with that tablet, so I'm having to try to learn it, too. I hate it. I have spent a ridiculous amount of time on this tonight, and it has been a spectacular failure (realizing that it's on my end). If I could get the in app thing to prompt MY google account, we'd be in business. Otherwise I'm about to go pour a stiff drink and call it a night.

Sorry to hear about the trouble with Google Play. There doesn't seem to be a way to use anything other than the 1st account for in-app purchases.

I guess if you don't have any account-specific data on the tablet, you could try removing that first account from the device such that your new account is the only one. Then in-app purchases should use that account. But I'm not sure if Android will allow you to remove the "first" account.

Btw, you're not doing anything wrong. It's Google that is providing a bad experience. I'm generally a big supporter of Android, but stuff like that IS very annoying and Google is not doing anything about it.

We finally got it sorted out with a new password. I have decided that I haaaaaate that tablet. Definitely not putting one of those on any of my wish lists. But it's all sorted out, and the app looks super easy to navigate. Once I had it all sorted out, I came back inside because mosquitoes, but I can't wait to play with it some more. Thanks! :)

I'm glad you got it working! I assume you already made your purchase - thanks for that.

The update is coming up in about an hour, stay tuned!

I did make the purchase. That's why I was so tenacious. I wanted it before it went up. :)

Yup, it's now $19.99 for lifetime unlimited use. It's still way cheaper than going to the dealer ONCE :)

Help! My auto headlights aren't working anymore. I don't think I changed the settings for that, what is the auto headlights activation threshold settings (lightest to darkest?)

    Nexus 4 ?

Hmm, ok, what settings related to lighting have you changed, if any? The "Auto headlights activation threshold" controls how sensitive the auto headlights are. If you set it to darkest, they won't activate until it's very dark outside, whereas if you set it to lightest, they'll be more sensitive and should activate if it gets just slightly dark outside.
Did you by any chance disable Daytime running lights or anything?
Let's get to the bottom of this. Also, make sure your headlight switch is in the correct position for auto lights and that the light sensors are not blocked, etc. :)

Is there anyway you could make the steering wheel button activate siri or google now? The toyota's built in voice recognition software is garbage! I would gladly pay 50 bucks for that feature alone!!!

It may be limited to recent releases of Android, but on my LG Volt, I can just say "OK Google" anytime the screen is on, and give it voice commands for searches. Really no interface required.

Unfortunately with the prius when you push the button on the steering wheel the system defaults to toyotas version of voice recognition software. As far as I know there is no way to change this. =(

Right, because Entune/Toyota car multimedia has no way of interacting with apps like Siri, Google search, or any other app on your phone. It only uses the phone/data capabilities through the Bluetooth link.
