What fits in PiP cargo?

I hauled 150 feet of quarter sawn oak home in my PIP, then built this chest of drawers exactly 65 inches long to fit inside. The headboards slid in above and below (Posts attached at the time of delivery). The PIP got more attention than my handiwork...

Thanks! The saw mill is Schmitt Timber, just west of Spring Valley, WI - just a short drive from both of us. (Sorry to all of you for going off-topic, there is so little for we PIPers in WI to chat about and so few of us to chat!)

 

I know this is PiP section but Gen III is about the same. This past Christmas I bought a surround sound system from best buy. I was surprised to fit them all in. I wasted 20 minutes to arrange with the store manager to keep the speakers here so I could make 2 trips. 2 KF28 floor speakers in its boxes and 4 surround sound and center speaker in original boxes. All fitted in the Prius.

 

I've been doing a lot of home remodeling. Completely gutted the bathroom and retiled. I must have had mosaic tile stacked to the ceiling, grout, marble for the floor.

I remember worrying about the weight of everything causing an issue with the electric motor...


I've also been slowly converting my front yard to succulents. It's great to cart around plants. I have the thick rubber liner in the back. Very easy to clean up.

Not going to lie. I'm quite amazed on what some of you have been putting into your cars.

This Memorial Day weekend I loaded up extra patio pavers and hauled them to Son's house (Northern Virginia to Louisville Kentucky). Didn't count but there were at least 120 brick-sized pavers. Laid them in three layers across the full cargo bay. Added tools on top. The PiP looked like a Low Rider, the visible air gap above the rear wheels just disappeared. Let's say the gas mileage took a major hit: average over 620 miles = 36 MPG indicated. Had POWER button engaged to get over the West Virginia mountains. No harm other than the (relatively) horrendous mileage hit. Handling at 80 MPH got a bit funny as well. Son thought I was crazy when he saw the car - and he had asked for the damn pavers to begin with. I could really feel the PiP's traction battery assist on the hills with this load. The car did bottom several times but only on the rear extreme corners, which turned out to have good reinforcing flat pads that absorbed the scrapes well. Long Live the Mighty PiP!

 

+1 for the head's up. It's really difficult to know what people do and don't know. I didn't realize that was something helpful to put in the User Guide.


Did you know that the hatch has a built-in bumper protector?

Just pull the carpet out when loading cargo, then fold it in when before closing.


Did you know that the benefits of removing rear belts before folder the seats down?

Just sliding them out of the holster allows you to slide them out of the way at the seats edge and will also prevent the buckle from ever poking into the upholstery.

 

This car has never cease to amaze me in what it can carry.

You do know that power mode is just basically a throttle response remapped and not much else? It also prevents shutting off of the ICE at higher speeds. You probably would have done just as well without it on, but maybe got better mileage.
For me, ECO mode is on when in HV mode, PWR mode is on in EV mode because I like the response better.

Details: Photo taken from our family trip to the seaside. We were amazed to realize we can actually pack all our regular holiday stuff inside of a PiP. The rack and the bikes on the roof really killed the mileage, but what the heck: it was still far better than our previous gas guzzler.
