For those doing a camera in their C1 and C2, the reverse wire will not be in your radio harness. Instead - you can find it in the driver's side, knee area. There is a removable section near the trunk pop latch and to the left of the knee airbags. Remove that panel. You'll see a large white connector towards the top, it should mimic the picture I'm showing below. You can choose the Brown or Purple wires. These are the wires that feed back to each rear tail light. Chris
I bought a kit for mine that plugged into the back of the radio and it had everything you need. No need to go to all that trouble. I posted the adaptor on this site earlier this year.
Yes, if you have a 3 or 4 for the kit will work. If you use an aftermarket radio in a C1 or a C2 that harness is not present in the radio since its a "dumb" non LCD/Touch radio from the factory.
the c1 and 2 dont have the reverse wire in the radio. i thought about running the reverse wire from the kick panel but at the time of my camera install, i didnt have the wiring on hand, so i just ran a wire from the rear reverse light to the front. it wasnt that much of a problem since you are already running the video signal to the front. but thanks for the future reference OP
I just ran it directly to the reverse taillight; much easier and no problems after 2+ years! But It's always great to have additional options.
How did y'all run the wire from the camera which is outside of the car to the inside. Did you drill another hole or is there an existing one you used. Thx
This is the kit I have almost finished installing.... ran out of time on the weekend. I have multiple wiring projects going on so I took my time running all my wires.. I have a similar kit from camera-source.com that seems to have the same gear based on the photo, and I'm about to start - which pin are you talking about that is so difficult to remove? Is it on the hatchback, door plastic bits or the frame around the head unit?
i dont believe it directly voids warranty unless they are able to prove that the device installed is the reason the problem occurred.
It's the second pin on the right hand side of the plastic piece that holds the license plate lights and the switch to open the hatch. Nokia ICON
