How's it sound??? Are you powering the new speakers from the stock amp right now (wondering how that would sound on its own) or have you put in the outboard amp? thanks!
Soun sound is amazing. good solid bass, excellent clarity and for the bass heads out there it would be easy to turn the gain up and play find the rattle. Right now im using the HU power to break in the speakers but have the 4 channel amp already wired up. Ill let you know the difference in sound when i cross over. but just as is, its pretty good, no distortion and balanced sound. For a stock 20 wattt max HU im impressed. considering my speakers are 75w RMS or 225 peak, that less than 20w sounds good.
I have been looking into this as well. Heres my thought. I like the idea of cutting out the foam boards. If you were to cut out a rectangle smack dab in the middle (towards the thicker part), I think you would be able to fit one of these: Alpine SBR-S83V Ported enclosure with one 8" Type-R subwoofer at Crutchfield.com It may (may not) stick up above the surface around an inch or two, but I think it would look clean and save the minimal trunk space we have. Thoughts??
