Got a highlander radio for my Prius C, but it looks like JT Torres no longer sells the adapter plate -any one got one for sale?? Love to pick one up!
I'm surprised that JT no longer sell it. Well two options remains: 1. Someone grab a package of dash kits from Taiwan and sold it in US. Here's the website: 琦森企業有限公司 - Audio Work- 產品介紹 汽車音響面板框 > TOYOTA or 2. Go to this site and see if you can buy it one for yourself: http://goods.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21401203838169 Other than that, I don't know other alternatives.
I was in the same boat. Just ordered this from China. While I don't have 100% certainty it will work with my Highlander/Corolla radio, it LOOKS like it has the right dimensions for the task (Similar to the JT Torres kit, it appears to be wider and shorter in height than the Metra/Scosche kits that are for aftermarket radios). Taking a bit of a gamble, but I was able to order just 1 and the site looks to be legit. Feel free to inform me if I am way off here... Did you try the link I posted? I had no trouble ordering from that site. We'll see how it works when it arrives in the next couple weeks...
looks super cool! that's a huge upgrade from the stock. may I suggest if you're interested in making more to have people paypal you a percentage of the total to show they're serious and to limit your risk.
I have the kit for sale in the classifieds for sale forum. For Sale - Prius C Accessories: 35w 5000K Morimoto HID Kit / ProClip iPhone Mount / Shift Knobs & More! | PriusChat let me know.
OK. I just received my shipment from China. Item packaging states the item is actually made in Taiwan. Installed perfectly for my OEM highlander/corolla radio (no need to use the 2 included spacers for narrower units). Took me a second to figure out how to install it...it snaps onto the back of the dash panel that surrounds the radio (the one with the 4-way signal button that you have to remove to remove/install the radio itself). So, ultimately, the price isn't cheap ($63 shipped from China), but the product works exactly as you'd hope. I included a few pictures. At least now you know there is an option for those that didn't get in on the JTorres option in time! JTorres option is slightly better because the finish of the dash trim is the same as the C dash trim.
How does the radio sound compared to the factory? I bought a corolla radio but tempted to return it because of the cost of this faceplate. Does everything work on it? Any extra sound features? What about playing from an iPod, does the album art and everything show up? Really split between this radio and just getting an aftermarket one.
the corolla radio doesnt improve the sound. the features are the same plus the possibility of adding a rear camera. the album art does show up. the reason some of us went and got the corolla/highlander radio over aftermarket was so that we can retain all the stock features such as the audio in and usb socket, bluetooth mic and steering wheel controls.
