ordered from priuschat shop and installation was piece of cake. :)
side panels in the front and rear right next to tires were getting dirty after few days of my long commute.
this was a money well spent to protect my new PIP.

5 HP huh? Probably lost 0.1 mpg due to drag. ;)

Since when do mud flaps qualify as "tuning" ?
Looks like a screwed up spammer message to me.

I would love to see the wind tunnel results or computation fluid dynamics model to understand the basis of the claim. Of course, such a claim is not even slightly realistic.

Interestingly enough, I had once computed the aerodynamic drag at sea level of the EV-1 at 55mph and arrived at a value of less than 10hp. The coefficient of drag and cross-sectional area (CdA) of the EV-1 is 0.366 square meters compared to the PiP at 0.542 m2, and the drag values are directly proportional to CdA. Hence, it would take a tremendous change to the PiP in order to shed 5 hp of drag.

How does adding aerodynamic drag and weight possibly effect horse power?
But if it's humor and pride showing some really nice looking mud flaps, good show;)

If you installed all of the top-ten add-ons which all claim to increase your horsepower and/or mileage; K&N air filters, water injection, fuel additives, etc., You may indeed see your 5 HP or even 5 MPG, but you would have spent a good deal of money and significant time, which you will never get back.

Adding Side panels do not increase HP infact they add weight and reduce performance by a small percentage.

    ^ Yeah, could be.

I thought mud flaps increased drag.

On every previous vehicle I've had they came stock in front and I made a point of getting the optional rears as well. But now I don't know, the Prius didn't come with flaps and seems to be doing just fine without.

Different crowd I guess.. OP meant it as a joke.. kind of how people joke that adding stickers to a car makes it go faster

Really? Race cars have stickers, race cars go fast, therefore stickers make you go fast.

    (sarcasm);)

That's exactly how I see it. My response in post number two was supposed to be in jest as well. :)

btw, flaps do come with an opening designed for airflow. but yeah, in reality, i probably lose a small fraction of aerodynamic. but it does very well with highway riding where i used to collect asphalt stains.

You and your passengers . . . . Take a dump before you go . . . that'll lighten your load and give you better mpg's

Why is it that the folks that hawk this crap can't figure out that if their crap ideas truly did any good, the manufacturer would already be using it.
