Great! You just saved me a call. I just ordered one and it should be here in 7-10 days for the total cost of about $15. When I get it I'll verify if it's the same one that was shown here.
God I hope not...supposedly these are the ones pictured. Either way, I'll let y'all know what I get in the mail (gulp).
Well...it's official. This is what I got in the mail. OG1600...I don't know how you got what you got, but I'd rather have yours than this. Now don't get me wrong...I was able to get all of my goodies into this thing, but it's not as sexy as your portfolio. I wish you could find out for us where your dealer snagged those. Perhaps it's a discontinued item...who knows...? Anyway...I can still say goodbye to my white vinyl pouchy dealer-advertising ickyness...and hello to my genuine imitation leatherette zippered wonderfullness.
I called the Texas dealer parts again and the parts guy is going to talk to the sales people to see if he can track down the actual leather one that was posted here. Will let you know when I hear something.
I got the leather or vinyl zippered pouch when we picked up Sputnik on Sunday. My salesguy said it is something the dealership buys. Some places (he said Michaels in Bellevue) do not purchase them for their customers. I love it, everything fits in there so neatly!
Got a call back. The portfolio is part of a VIP pack that the region distributor for Texas sends with the cars. Unfortunately there's no part number and they do not want to really pursue trying to track down the marketing people who supply these.
Sorry for getting your hopes up. I talked to my salesperson, Tristin, and she says they're a Gulf Coast region thing. Lewis
Looks like what I got from Kendall. Did you get the cheapo useless clear plastic insert on whihc the openings are facing down?
I bought a pretty decent zippered leather case at "Office Depot" for $8.50. If you don't mind spending more you could include things like note pads, pens and calculators. Just go to where they have the daily planners and find one that has what you want and can fit the owners manual. Actually no. The insert while at first looked kinda cheap, actually had side openings and fit all of the stuff that I got with my Prius (maint passport, warranties, etc.). It was a bit of a tight squeeze, but I was able to get everything in there fairly comfortably. The only thing without a place and just got shoved in there was the thinner Nav manual. Everything else fit in the plastic pouches. The inside bottom of the portfolio has a little mesh pocket with an opening towards the left side. So I just opened the manual to the last 20 pages or so and slid that inside the pocket. This holds the manual in pretty tight so I can just flip it open without having to take the manual out. I still would have preferred the other one, but in hindsight it's not a bad buy at all. It even fits in the back part of the glove box.
Yeah, you've got to take what those sales folks say with a grain of salt. You got a silver key chain AND touch up paint? Cool!
I didn't get anything to put my manuals in. Went back to the dealer and mentioned that i saw online that others had gotten lether holders for their booklets, and the sales manager told me that they aren't included with the car, but that they're only a 7 dollar part. She then promptly went to one of the cars on the show floor (a highlander, i believe), and pulled one out of the glovebox for me, no charge!
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(og1600 @ Feb 25 2006, 07:59 AM) </div> I'm not too far from Classic Toyota, in fact I had a Honda Insight and I used to drive all the way to Classic Honda because I liked the mechanics and service much better than the dealer 5 minutes away. Anyway, does Classic Toyota stock a few of these leather pouches with the magnetic snap like you showed in the pictures? If they have them I'll pick one up the next time I pass through, but I don't want to be calling around if your salesperson knows how/where to get one. Let me know, thanks!
