My memory of the 2012 PIPA HUD switch was that it was a 2 position switch, ON and OFF. When HUD was ON it displayed the car's speed, ie, 35 mpg or whatever (with GPS OFF) and when it was OFF the display was blank. Today when I turned it ON, I discovered 2 ON positions. 1) the usual 35 mpg display and on a second button push 2) a smaller speed display + under it, the charge/discharge meter bar similar to that on the main consul. 3) OFF. Was it always this way? or did the dealer reprogram the display in some kind of a software upgrade? Anyway, I'll be using mode 2 from now on now that I've discovered it.
The dual modes have been there since I bought mine two years ago. In fact, NATHAN at Carson Toyota made a point of showing us that feature when we took delivery (along with many, many other features I'd probably still be looking for if I'd have bought elsewhere) I've never had a more thorough new car introduction. He absolutely left no stone unturned. Just ONE MORE REASON to CALL DIANNE!
Same here, always been two options on the single HUD button. My preference is to see only MPH + Nav in the HUD.
