I was challenging those whom have not achieved it yet. None of the Volt on voltstats.net have achieved 100 MPGe even with the 99.6% EV ratio. We have a PiP owner achieving 100+ MPGe with just 66% EV! I don't know about Leaf owners but it'll be interesting.
My understanding is the MPGe numbers on Voltstats are not very meaningful, as the auto reported data does not include actual charger kWh consumed. EV efficiency is just assumed to be EPA rating.
Hoping to improve my number as well in the next month or so. Great thing about numbers on our list is that they are some real world numbers. Very few of the entries have been attained by not driving daily routes.
I am getting the impression (other than an obvious few) that most Volt owners probably don't care about efficiency the way PiP owners might.
I think they do. GM doesn't make it easy to get the data, on purpose or not. The OnStar report is not accurate also where some of the crucial numbers could be missing.
Surprised we haven't seen any new entries to our list. To the new people. Please check out the very first post for the actual list and rules. We would love to have you!
I remain unchallenged at #1 on the Volt list at 115.7 MPGe with 91% EV. Volt - Top 10 MPGe | PriusChat My daily route has changed a bit since my entry on that list so that I end up driving even more during the day with less opportunity for recharging. I've recently been averaging 60-65% EV and 45 mpg hybrid mode. That probably puts me down around 70-75 MPGe combined driving about 120-130 miles a day.
I just got my PiP about a month ago. My initial 1k+ miles put me at the end of the top 20 list. It's a start and I am writing numbers down here for the reference. Will see how much improvement I can achieve with my regular driving pattern as I learn the car. (1133km=704mi, 907km=564mi, 37l=9.8USgallons, MPGe=83.1)
I feel like a bottom feeder, initially I was in the top ten went down to 20 and was there for so long. If the bottom wasn't good enough it wouldn't be the bottom.
Retired is sounding chipper - temps above freezing I presume ? I'm expecting that new EV record in 2 months
I think I might be last on the list because I tow a trailer sometimes when I was doing that last tankful. I also used the inside of the car to get rid of my 50 gallon water heater. I guess if I had a volt I wouldn't be doing that sort of thing and I could say how great my ev is. The Prius because of the hatchback and flat floor eliminates my need to use a pick up truck. My little trailer for over size light loads is the icing on the cake.
I am carrying loads not possible with Volt or even C-Max Energi because it doesn't have a flat floor. There is a seat available for a passenger either in the front or rear. That capability with fuel efficiency is more important to me than the EV mile ratio or speed driven. PiP is a great family car, not just a commuter car.
You guys/gals are so good... I am very very bad... If my math is correct... I am 62.xx MPGe... Correct?
