New 2014 Prius Four owner!

    Hi all,

    After 2 months of research for a new vehicle, my wife and I bought a 2014 Prius Four this Memorial Day weekend (in the US). We had a Hyundai Elantra and a Honda Element. My wife stays home, so she has the Element, while I commute 66 miles round-trip to work in the Hyundai. It gets 27mpg.

    I was looking maximum fuel economy and something that was really long-term reliable.

    We chose the Prius and bought ours on Sunday, trading in the Element. I got 47mpg average on the drive home Sunday night (55 miles). I chose to buy at a Carmax dealer so I wouldn't have to deal with all the pressure and haggling.

    I purchased the Husky floormats and cargo mats last night, which I think are the only accessories I need.

    Anyway, looking forward to chatting on this forum.

    Great commuter car... especially passing by all those fuel stations. Have loved ours as commuter and long distance travel car. Enjoy... and post pictures when you can!

    Welcome and congrats on your new purchase. I have a 2014 as well. My highway average is 53 mpg and in town much higher numbers. I have a 2006 as well. Both cars are great. 14 gives more f.e. . H

    Thanks! Yeah, I stopped 3 times per week for gas in Hyundai(!!). I'm hoping for once on the weekends or less...

    Greetings, just bought a leftover 2013 Prius "two", yesterday.
    Love it so far.
    This will be my new DD. For the last three years I have been DD a 09 Corvette so this will be a big change.

    Thanks all. My Prius is white. I just filled up my tank for the first time, after 9 days of driving...49 mpg and 460 miles. Nice!!!!! SOOOOOOO much better than filling up every 3 days...

    Welcome! Is it Blizzard Pearl white? If so you should join the Blizzard Brigade! You'll love the gas savings. I just filled up today after 2 weeks of driving and fill ups only cost me around $30.

    I filled mine up for the very first time a couple of days ago. The guy next to me had an F250 4x4 and offered to fill my tank if I filled his. I politely declined. :cool:

    I've been getting a lot of comments and questions about it. It's a bit suprising how little people know about this car, or even hybrids in general.
