I know I have ask this in the past and it has been asked by others. However I am going to ask. Do they have a plug and play towing wire harness for the Prius C, not the Prius but Prius c?
i havent seen any plug and play models. i have seen models that you simply splice into te run, brake and turn signals and it converts into the trailer harness.
There will not be a "plug n play" harness. Might be a "tap in n play" setup. Got to tap into the existing wires so you will then have "plug n play". It will be a simple install when you know where to put the taps. I have not done the C yet. Did my Vibe. Took about 10 minutes and I had to use the kit with box for extra wire. Got it at Autozone. I got the wiring diagram from the Vibe forum. Maybe someone can direct you to the diagram for the C. It will be pretty simple. You might check the kits at the parts store and find a diagram for the C. Dan
I'm assuming they're going to use their C TO tow, not GET towed? correct us both , as one of us must be wrong, ha ha. It'll tow about 1,000 even though Toyota recommends zero.
Yet a LESS powerful car on the same platform can tow 1,000lbs... Yaris has been on again, off again tow capable, the Echo could tow 1,000... The same argument was had with SCION xA/xB years ago.
For the Prius but not the Prius C. For Prius C you have to splice the wires. Isn't tap in play and plug in play same thing? This is so I can tow a very small trailer. Not to be towed.
No, they are different. Plug and play means no wire cutting or splicing is required. All connections would be made with an adapter, which would plug into an existing wiring harness connector. SCH-I535
My guess is they're towing it behind an RV. Hope they use a tow dolly and then of course besides more safe thee dolly has the wiring to connect to the RV brake and tail lights.. If the C is used to tow a bike trilaer again only the brake lights and tail lights need to be tappee into the C wires; pretty easy just make sure the disconnect is not at the wire taps. There is no plug and play in the electronic sense. Just connect, test, and be off.
Curt makes a PiP harness now for the harness plug. I love towing with my C. I tow my Jetski with it no problems.
100.4" isn't too short of a wheelbase let alone for a compact/sub compact vehicle. For reference a long bed pickup with four doors will have a wheelbase around 160" A SCION iQ is 79" Lots of variables. just saying 100 isn;t terrible. a highlander can tow 5,000 and only has a 109.8" wheelbase...
