MAN!!! I LOVE THIS CAR!!!! But its killing me. Since I got my '13 Prius I have been on the road more than in the last 8 months than I have in the last two years.. since the gas mileage is great, I drive longer and faster so I don't think I'm saving any money, but Damn I love this car!!! Oh well, cars are made to be driven, but I didn't realize that I had been going that much, I just happened to scroll through the trip and noticed the odometer...WOW.. It's almost time to look for tires.. hands down the best purchase I've made in the last year!!
I understand completely, we've come to rediscover the favourite 80's past time of a driving holiday. We now drive places that we would normally fly to!
Same here, racked up 95k+ miles since 3/2011 , just like the battery bunny commercial...going, going and going! The tank of fuel last longer than my 06 Sienna.
Same here...I enjoy driving my Prius so much that I go on many road trips too. I now have 21000 miles on my 1 year old Prius. The Prius has been fantastic so far and I'm averaging 52 mpg. SAMSUNG-SM-N900A ?
When the price of gasoline gets expensive a lot of people who have gas guzzlers can not travel around. They have to stay at home and watch the grass grow. Driving around is the only pleasure I have left. That's why I bought a Prius so I can do pretty much what I want and not worry about the price of gasoline. I think the rest of you people feel the same.
I hear people complaining that gas is over $4 per gallon yet they are driving huge lifted 4x4s as their daily commuter. If I still had my old premium fuel gas guzzler, I would be staying at home alot more too. Instead, with my Prius, I'm seeing so many beautiful areas around Washington State and British Columbia and love it! SAMSUNG-SM-N900A ?
Thats why I sold my V8 4.2 Audi A6 and got a Prius lol. There was a time when the gas prices were almost $5 here in California, and my full tank costs over $100, since my Audi had 22 gallon capacity. Anyway, when I got a Prius I spent more time on the road too and drove a lot cause it was so cheap to lol.
I'm not sure what my fuel average is... I know it isn't that great compared other prius drivers because I drive like a bullet. I'm usually doing 90 mph zooming past everybody. I think my worst was 39mpg.. even with that, it's almost 3 times better than the best mpg with in my truck. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a ticket!! SM-N900V ?
To me anyhow, it seems like troopers don't even look at a Prius going by, even if you have a heavy right foot Mike
To all you guys with mega miles keep after the trans fluid. Money well spent and a pretty easy diy. At least get the first trans fluid changed as most of the wear happens in the first 10K miles. A few pictures here of early gen3 trans fluid and it did not look good. Looked like alot more wear then on a G2.
Would it be safe to say do the CVT fluid change at 10k miles or at what mileage? I would like to do all the best for care of my car. It will be years from now until I could possibly get to even 10k miles but still want to keep on top of things like this. I already did my first gas motor oil change at 1200 miles rather than taking it further. Mike
I hear ya! i drive 500miles a week.. so the miles are adding up FAST! Im close to 25K in less than a year. But like you said, its such a great little car to drive I don't even mind doing all that driving! Plus all the money/fuel I am saving.. makes me feel better.
Yes there are many trans fluid change threads for the G3 on this site with pics. Its pretty easy. There is a dump bolt and then a fill bolt up on the side of the trans. Dump it then put 4 quarts of Toyota WS Trans Fluid back in. WS price varies in location but around $10 a quart.
In these times, a vacation trip usually is comprised of a plane ticket and the hassle of modern day travel whoas. For me, the Prius brings back the pleasure and excitement of the good old road trip. You actually get to fill your adventure with the sights and sounds that only a road trip can provide. The Prius affords me the pleasure of doing this.
