Cosmetic changes, nothing of substance. Maybe 2016 for anything under the hood to be different is my take from the article.
Yeah it'll probably benefit from any update done on the Prius for its next generation. This is the midlife update to bring it in line with the rest of the family. It's definitely more aggressive in the front. The rear bumper is slightly different. Note that this is an F Sport model. No guarantee that the regular models will look like that.
I still enjoy my 2012 just the way it is. I do like the new wheels though. A 55mpg (EPA) CT would be nice...
I don't care much about a facelift, on cars or humans. Our 2012 CT200h is a great car period. It handles much better than the Prius we had ( I have has sports cars for years, know the difference) We are happy with the MPG, the seats are great for long distance, the amenities more than satisfactory, very happy owners. No, I do not work for Lexus.
This front end - It's not just for the 200 as we now know. Another PC member recently articulated what it is about the Lexus new front end style that is so bothersome to many. It looks like a combination of a giant mouth, and a giant "X" . . . something akin to a teenager's lowered Mitsubishi - that you'd expect to find coffee can sized exhaust pipes on ... whos owner subconsciously is screaming, "please! ... won't someone just notice me!" IMO. I don't necessarily love or hate any car's front grill style - but the older ones (which we are quite happy with) do look better than the giant "X" that they now sport ... again, just one person's view. YMMV. On a side note, Lexus' advertised plug-in bashing is personally so offensive, we are highly unlikely to replace our Lexus hybrid with another - regardless of whether or not it has a 'different' looking grill. .
