I've been driving a 2006 Prius in the Portland, OR area for a few years and do okay with mileage averaging in the mid to high 50s in the summer and about 50 in the winter even though I live in a semi-hilly area. I have been a PriusChat member for several years, have read through many of the hypermiling posts, viewed several videos, use a ScanGauage II and so I am familiar with many of the tips and tricks. However, I am interested in learning hypermiling technique at a class or Prius meet-up or something similar in order to get in-person demonstrations, feedback, etc from someone who knows what they are doing. Does anyone know of such an opportunity to learn hypermiling within driving distance of the Portland, OR area? Thanks a bunch!
Second to an in-person meet, I think videos are pretty good instructors (although you may have already seen them). I like this one for pulse-and-glide: ...and this one for driving-with-load: Video Series: Driving for fuel economy: Driving with load (DWL) | Green Lights Hudson Valley Here's a list of all kinds of strategies from Ecomodder: 100+ Hypermiling / ecodriving tips & tactics for better mpg - EcoModder.com
is there a prius club there? sometimes dealers will host events. marlboro toyota hosted an event and brought in wayne gerdes.
I think Wayne Gerdes is the best in this one, followed by the guy in the video above that is running the Prius with the Trek stuff on it. My mind is drawing a blank on his screen name. He shows off his Prius at car shows and has a lot of trophys... Ron
Thanks guys! I'll check those videos out and call my local Toyota dealer to see if there are any Prius clubs they are aware of. I sure appreciate the input!

you may want to post a thread on priuschat asking if there is a club. not sure which forum it belongs in, but i have seen others do it.
Ask also at CleanMPG.com, Wayne's home website. There are good tutorials there too, some specific to Prius or Honda, others more general to all cars.
