Hey all, I just ordered a DRL module and third brake light flasher. Has anyone else installed this DRL module? I want to see if anyone has had any issues with it, and how long you've had it installed. Since the turn signals act as the DRL has anyone installed LEDs ?

Install looks easy, just wondering about longevity.

Yeah, I saw that. I was more concerned with longevity. (Defective units, ect).

They're solid state electronics. As long as you don't get it wet or subject to too much heat, they should be reliable.

Ahh, ok. I was worried there was a cheap-o relay or something hiding under that cap. Compared to led's this mod is cheap and keeps the car looking factory. I hate those stick on led strips I see all over the place. Thanks a lot !

There is another option that uses the highbeam bulbs at 50% for DRLs, like a lot of oem Toyotas do. Link is in my sig below. The modules are sold on eBay and are solid state as well.

They are less complex to wire because they don't use the turn signals.

Installed the DRL module and brake light flasher today. Took all of a hour and a half for both. Installed as per the directions given... Easy. The amber turn lights are very bright and looks great. The rear flasher is excellent also. Last thing I need is to get rear ended again. Broke my neck and back in 07 because someone was following too closely and not paying attention.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. OTOH, I'm only here on this Prius forum today because someone did the same thing to my wife while she was stopped for a school bus. Both cars totalled, nobody hurt, and the insurance was enough to get us into our Prius.

I did find out today from research online that blinking brake lights are illegal in California though, which is annoying.

Research some more. Flashing is indeed illegal, but pulsing is legal.

Well I installed the DRL module yesterday....all went well until the final step....finding the power wire was alot difficult so I took the car to my audio installer and he found the wire for me....that said, I love the look of the car and it is a good enhancement to it!

Which DRL module did you install, the WebElectric or Proeltec?
