I fell down a flight of stairs today and likely detached my Quadriceps tendon in my right knee. This means I will be online even more and may be 'short' with folks who deserve better.

Feel free to remind me that I am out of line AGAIN.

Ouch! Sooo sorry to hear Jimbo.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
What would they have do for the tendon? Is it like achilles tendon I think they have to sew it back up

Ouch! So sorry to hear that. I fell in my backyard last June and by October, I needed surgery to fix the ligaments and tendons that were damaged.

Hope you recover very, very soon!

You have my sympathy. I've just had my MRI - apparently I managed to partially tear off my kneecap while lifting a box.

So far, no pain, but surgery is in my future I suspect.

    Prayers sent.

    Good Luck!
I'm getting old enough for slips and falls to be not nearly so much fun as they used to be, so I can relate.

    Remember.....they call you a 'patient' for a reason. ;)
    Heal well.

I was carrying a a chair down the stairs. My real problem is the knee, but what hurts today is the imprint of a chair leg.

I fought the chair, and the chair won.

Jimbo, I hope you heal fast and get back to normal soon.
The last time I fell down the stairs was in Tokyo when my late buddy and I finished off an entire bottle of sake.
I missed the first step and fell all the way down to the bottom landing. Just got up, brushed off the dust and went to the next bar. We were about 2o years old then so didn't feel no pain.
    You'll get better too.

That stinks man! I'm a PT - it's usually a sign of a complete tear when there's no pain . Can you straighten your knee out?

I had surgery to re-attach the tendon Feb 14th, I have worked my way back from wheelchair to crutches, to walker, to cane. Some days I do not need the cane. I have a brace on which prevents me from driving safely. (It's real job is to protect me from over bending the knee, it is set to 80 degree right now) My clients are very grumpy and my Toyota dealer thinks I have abandoned them. ( I was in every other month for service, but this next service may be due to time, not mileage) I am hoping to be out of the brace in 3 weeks. I do not feel anywhere done with PT)
