In November 2013, I purchase an ECU connector for my Prius"v" from an eBay vendor in Japan.

It was the OLDER type. Once installed, it is very difficult to remove.

After two months of continuing research, I was able to source and import a NEW version that actually has "removal tabs" built in. All you have to do is squeeze the tabs together with your thumb and index finger, and the lock tabs are removed.

Getting them took four more months, duties and a LOT of RED TAPE through Customs. It means that I won't do it, again.

I have uploaded a photo of the ECU cover being removed and the tabs at the top corners in the second photo.

Uh, isn't that (ordering the correct part) what Toyota Dealerships are for?

Read the OP again. It's a foreign part and Toyota dealerships will only have the inventory of parts sold in countries they're based in.

I imported a small lot from Japan and waited three months for them.

It was excruciating... I won't do it again.

Thus, I assume that *SC* did not stand for "South Carolina," a southern coastal state in USA?

Can you at least provide the details? It's not like you're selling them and are prohibited from revealing.

SC means South Carolina, NOT Serbo Croatia.

Of course not. You provide the link and details so people can import themselves and wait 3 months if they so desire.

I'd search other selling web sites.

I just can't sell them through PriusChat.

Hint hint... look on EBay with the information provided above... including the letter right before N, immediately followed by an ordinal number which is one half of a thousand. ;)

me too, I thought if there's a problem to reveal the PN of this new cover...
anyway, going over to order it from the Toyota, I think it's definitely available at Lexus since all CT200h has this cover.

Don't know the part number. Somehow, they had to cut off the labels, before that can sell them to me. I got them directly from Tokai Rika.

    Vehicle Field/TOKAI RIKA CO., LTD.

They are the OEM suppliers of the cover to Toyota, as well as many electronic and parts. They even make the wheel center caps.

They told me that there were two versions. They said that they have to sell OFF the older version in inventory first, and cannot sell me the new version with the Toyota part number on it.

So, I'm the first to get the NEW "removable version." If you can't verify the version you are getting, you take your chances as I did by buying the OLDER version from an eBay seller in Japan.

That was what I was told in December, when I order them and got them in February.
