dont really know much about prius, but im gonna learn, just traded in my guzzler today. got a 2011 prius. not sure what number. i think 2 because i dont have jbl. but i do have cruise and i think bluetooth. hello from Arizona

I didn't want to impart high expectations on this side of the summer driving season. I usually knock down about 500 miles for a 10 gallon fuel load. Since the green weenies insist on 42 different designer blends of gasoline, whenever the over worked refineries have to shift to another formula it creates a hiccup in our nation's "just in time" gas supply causing a price spike. Right now? Gas is about $3.30 a gallon in the less oppressed regions of the country. Easy math for this work-a-day phone fixer. 500 miles. 10 gallons (+/- a tenth) 33 bucks. Also. By my estimation, there are 732 threads in this forum asking how many bars should remain on the fuel gauge when you load fuel (people who pluralize Priuses with "prii" call those bars 'pips') Since the bottom 20-percent of the tank is not measured by the gas gauge, this could further exacerbate a new Prius driver wondering why they only load about 9.5 gallons of fuel when the Malfunction Display says it's time to get gas. Why go through all of that? I swagged a fill-up with one or two bars (or pips, for the more hip) loading about 9 gallons at about $3.30 with about a 40-45 MPG efficiency. The OP might want to play with the car, and since he lives in a Aridzona there are plenty of places to do a terminal velocity test. So.....400 mile, $25 dollar fill-ups work in this case. (Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert!!!!) Priuses can usually top out well over 100MPH...or (*cough!!!*) so I've been told.
So far I have only hit a tick over 90 mph in my Prius while merging onto I95 and having to immediately go from a tight curve onto the highway to a sudden 3 Lane merge while also fighting traffic. My Civic hybrid would have been SOL but the Prius does have an aggressive bite to her when needed. This was post software update, too, for those worried about acceleration issues afterwards.
