I just got these and have not seen these pictures so here they are. I read about the zip install but have not seen pics. I got the 35w 4300k from Retrofit store. You have to order the XB35 bulbs to avoid the ground wire issue that cost +20.00. I used a screw driver blade that was hot and melted a perfect slot for the ties. Here is the relay install. I did drill a hole with no-ox to keep some rust out.
It's too bad you drilled that hole in the sheet metal already. If that is the driver's side, then there are a couple of prethreaded 6mm holes in front of the fuse box. I'm using one of them, with a bracket, to mount my DRL module and relay. One of them is in this pic: SCH-I535
Good point about the factory holes for the next person. It was a hard winter with salt, so while I was in there I redid all the ground wires and added no-ox to the connection. That includes the 12v fuse box white wire and the new grounds for the lights. It's evening now and the improvement is nice. The 4300k are white compared to the factory stock bulbs 4300k. The factory aiming has the passenger light a bit lower. If I can get good pics in the evening with a camera, not a phone, I will post later.
Great idea, I just zip tied mine around the narrower area. Not perfect but it was a black zip tie so its not too noticeable.
Here is the crappy phone pics. Better than nothing I guess. Remember it's only 35w 4300k Morimoto H11 elite lights with XB35 bulbs. Not bad in my opinion. I really like the squirrel finders you see in the pics. I can see road signs light up way, way down the road. The pic doesn't show how nice these are.
