PRIUS C with Highlander Radio

well that just looks like a overprice 16pin harness with extra video input(s)

I just tried my 16pin harness again with a camera that works with 6.5v without using the boost converter and it seems to be the same result. Corolla head unit does detect camera (b/c on the display contrast/brightness set-up screen, a option to do a camera contrast/brightness shows up); however I guess the C2-1 doesn't come pre-wired to a reverse signal or whatnot, so the radio isn't switching to the camera when I put it in reverse.

I guess the only thing I can do now is look at my wife's C4's wiring and compare it with my C2's radio wiring and see what's missing/different and go from there. QQ

 

well i thought it was already started that the C1 and 2 do not have the reverse signal wire in the harness from stock. you have to run the positive side of the reverse lights to the headunit.

apparently he custom makes the 16 pin harness to the way you need it. so you can email him and say you need the 16 pin harness that has reverse signal wire and video cable.

What year Highlander or Corolla does that head unit come from?

 

Sorry. Not specific enough. I see that's from a 2013 Highlander. Will other years work, and how about the range from a Corolla?

 

2012-13 corolla radio and only 2013 highlander radio. maybe the 2014s can work too but i am not sure about those.

i got my radio from ebay. youll always find something on ebay.

 

Guys let me try to help, just about every Toyota radio will take a back up camera, on the Prius all you will need is to feed the video signal to the radio, if the radio doesn't detect the video from camera it won't switch over to camera input, depending on the camera you are using, sometimes the camera is a bit slow at turning on.. In some cases is best to use the acc wire on the main harness. That's the small grey wire ... Pleases test this wire to make sure it goes away when the key is out of the ignition... Where did you get the face plate from? If you got it inline, can you share the link? I've bought a 2013 Highlander radio for my PC and I just need to find the faceplate.

So do the Scosche and Metra kits work with the 13 Highlander Radio or not? I'm a little unclear from what I've read so far. I know Jt Torres' kit is better aesthetically, but are there other important differences?
