Reliable mpg and range figures for the Ford C Max Energi?

    With all the early mpg/range BS from Ford that went on with it's initial release- where can we see real world reliable mpg and range figures for the C Max Energi?

    the problem with plug ins is the variety of ev use.

    Here's some for me.

    Most EV miles in a normal day (I could easily improve on this):

    My longest EV only trip on one charge:

    I bought it in November and have yet to purchase gas (2.5 gallons left on the dealers tank). Besides overnight, I charge 1 to 2 more times per day/evening @ L2 rates which usually covers the 40-60 miles I need to make between work and family needs. My EV range estimate is typically between 26-28 miles. I have around a 105 MPGe lifetime avg. @ approx. 4k miles. I'll need to fill up in March.

    The rating was updated the 2014 model.
    Compare Side-by-Side

    45 city/40 highway/43 combine mpg for the hybrid. The Energi numbers haven't changed because it had to be tested itself due to differences in the drive train.

    Trying to decide if the C Max Energi is a good fit for my daily commute?
    28 miles each direction, about 20 miles of that is 60mph no stops.
    Free ChargePiont station at work.

    Going off fotomoto's EV range, it looks like you would probably have to burn a little gas each way. It would do better than your PIP, but its up to you whether or not its worth it.

    Need to be careful with the screenshots of EV miles. I have noticed the car tracks miles traveled using regen while burning gas as "EV" miles, even though the source of those miles energy is gasoline and not the grid. I am getting between 18-20 miles from the grid charge on my way to work.

    Ford has issued another miscalculation apology/correction on their hybrids and plug-ins. Comes with a customer satisfaction rebate of up to 4 digits. While fuelly.com won't tell you what you are going to get, it is at least a real world average of what real people are getting. I find itreports within a rounding error of what I experience based on more than a year of use, a hard winter, varied use etc.

    My parents regularly see 24-28 miles of EV range with no A/C or heat use, 23-25 miles with A/C and 12-15 miles in the winter with heat. They live in Minneapolis too with our brutal winters.

    Energi is a bigger heavier car. It makes more inline now.

    PiP efficiency continue to impress while being the most spacious PHV.

    True, but the Prius mpgs are so much better that it's not much of a comparison. There is Prius, and then there is everyone else.... :)

    And the Prius is a tin can made out of cheap plastic with no sound deadening. It's not in the same class as the Ford Hybrids. The Prius is an appliance, to be used and thrown away. The Ford Hybrids are cars, to be enjoyed and savored.

    It's also the lowest in materials quality and driving enjoyment. Seems like there are always trade offs. :p

    Interior material quality is a downgrade from Gen2 but I like how Gen3 drives better. I think they focused on getting HSD to the mainstream and cheaped out on interior. For me, it is not a deal breaker as I am not a materialist (not implying anything) and I love/enjoy what it can do.

    I hope Gen4 would address both of those issues for you :).
