1st leg of my trip from Taos to Big Bend National Park done. The Hollywood bike rack was extremely stable even at 80 mph with a strong cross wind. Getting 42 mpg also. Nexus 7 ?
So on my last leg home - 1100 miles so far. The bike rack is super stable and the C4 is getting 44 mpg even with strong cross winds and cruising at 75. Absolutely no problem passing at 85. Nexus 7 ?
Thanks I have the same type of bike rack. I've only driven locally with two bikes. I plan to take it camping this summer so it's reassuring all works well. It looks so unwieldy. iPhone ?
Thanks for the report. Is this the "F2" model? It's expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for... Also, how are you managing to get mileage of 42-44 MPG at that speed? Was it a quartering tailwind? Was it downhill both ways? I certainly can't manage more than 36 MPG at 80 MPH, and that's without bikes on the back, with only two people and luggage inside, and no wind or hills to speak of.
Yes it is the F2. This is my first long rode trip and I pretty much drove the C4 like a regular car. Coming back into Santa Fe there was an extreme headwind - probably 40-50 mph (typical nm spring weather) and my mileage dropped to 40. SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 ?
