Was the bar perhaps in the storage spot in the back? I sometime store mine there when carrying cargo.

Well here's mine, ended up just going to my local toyota dealer and paying $15.17 each. Just couldn't wait any longer to get them on the wheels, just love it. photo 2 copy.JPG photo 4.JPG photo 5.JPG

I know this is an old thread, but the bare alloy wheels simply look like wheels missing their wheelcovers. They look nothing like proper alloy wheels without the covers, except ..

I think the Black wheels look alright with certain color cars.

This is a proper alloy wheel. Do you see a groove along the rim where the cover is supposed to go? No, because they are not designed for tacky plastic covers, that btw, make it a chore to remove the valve caps.

Is there any truth to these stock 15" rims having sensors or some kind of gadget that has to redo with recharging the batteries? The salesman who I bought a Prius III from two days ago told me that for this reason it's not advisable to change rims.

I hate the way the covers look and without the covers, I still think it looks pretty hideous.

The wheels have the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (TPMS) which shows up on the dash when pressure goes low. I got a puncture couple years ago and the TPMS helped a bunch.

You could have the TPMS's moved to another set of wheels, new ones installed, however 'they' do it.

Oh, was that what he meant by "sensors". I'm pretty familiar with TPMS and I've programmed my 2011 Sienna XLE AWD's winter sets (Blizzaks) before. I thought there was something else specifically for the Prius that helps the generator/motor recharge. I had a feeling the salesman didn't know what he was saying and thought I'd confirm here. Thanks, cycledrum.

I bought these from Amazon. They're plastic but I think they'll match the color of the rims pretty well.

If you search for it, its ASIN is B00DQ25I3I on Amazon. I guess I can't put any links in my post.
