Due to being accepted to a school that is 54 miles away from home, I decided to trade in my "fun" car for something a little more practical. On Jan 31st, I got the following deal: 2013 Prius C "one" for $16,913 Traded in my 2007 Saturn Sky w/ 120k miles for $5500 (over NADA black book) 0% apr for 36 months 2 free fill ups of gas Not quite as much fun of a car, but going from 19 mpg to 47 mpg has been great! Simple math says that I'm saving about $14/day in gas (SoCal gas prices). Not to mention not having to deal with the repair bills that my Sky was starting to throw at me! Smartest decision that I've made in a long time! Now I just need to get some rear speakers installed and I'll be all set.
I consider this car to be a tool for a job, and it is doing exactly what I bought it for. The amount of money that it is saving me is going to be a great help in my endeavors.
Yeah, probably. I know that it sold for $6700 at auction and was subsequently sold for $9k at a private dealership about 4 weeks later. It was beat up and had a lot of miles on it for a "sports car". It was the funnest car that I've ever owned, but expensive to maintain. Plus with the ECM tune that I had on it, I had to run premium which was rough.
I once felt a need for a fast sports car (former Mustang owner, Silverado SS owner), now it is more of a want. My needs in life has changed and the Prius is now what fits my lifestyle.
I have the One as well. Didn't realize that the "four" speakers meant two door main speakers and two tweeters. From what I've read you have to run the wire all the way to the back door panels.
You get used to only the front speakers, and only you know that there are only front speakers Save your money for wheels, used push start button (looks only), Scan Gauge, seat covers, door sills, fog lights, mud flaps, video camera......ect. Have fun!
I came from a VF30 upgraded 02 WRX, then a EVO IX. The C One is not greased lightning, but it's still a very fun car to drive. Endisky, you got a great deal on your C. I paid sticker for it back in 2012 when there were no deals to be had. As mentioned in other posts, you won't miss the rear speakers. Instead, I opted to spend money on: Sunglasses holder (replacing the driver's OMG handle), auto headlights, back up camera w/ rear view mirror monitor, 08 Scion TC rear headrests, a fold-able cargo organizer and a set of Lloyds all weather floor mats. Both my wife and I enjoy driving this car.
Congrats! You've already found the C does the job. I once owned a Barracuda - fun but I don't want one now.
