I was a happy driver of American, gas-guzzling automobiles. Life was good. Toyota? I'd rather eat raw fish. Prius? Don't make me laugh and spit up my Budweiser. Well, hold all my calls and get me the name of a good shrink, because I think I've lost my mind. Here is the proof. I think I'm in love no less. I welcome any words of wisdom you can offer. I'll be inside eating Buffalo wings and drinking Yuengling lager.
Congratulations. My previous two vehicles, 2011 Lexus IS 350 F Sport and 2005 Mercedes SLK 55. Tired of more of the same, I chose a new 2012 Prius Plug In Advance. At this point in my life, I've sworn off expensive to buy, expensive to maintain transportation. Like you, I've seen the light. Driving is fun again, like driving a VW Beetle back in my youth.
Congrats!! Looks great!! I too am so past domestic cr@p cars, guzzlers, luxury expensive cars to buy & own. Welcome to the Prius revolution!! It all started for me at age 53...something just clicked, and I like it!
Thanks for the welcomes and best wishes. I'm now digging through all of the information available on this site, and look forward to benefitting from everyone's experiences and wisdom.
VERY nice!! A lot of us came from the same place you were in. Heck, my Dad retired from Chrysler after 35 years. Thats all we drove, period. Finally, I saw the light and have never looked back. Bonus: My Dad LOVES my Prius too!
OK Kenny welcome...I tell you, it used to be when we took our 2006 home to Pittsburgh I was the only one. Lot's more company now!
Congrats on the new Prius and for pairing Yuengling with buffalo wings, they DO go great together, lol. Welcome to Priuschat
Great photo, I visit Lancaster a few weekends a year with the family on weekend trips, but I've yet to make it out and take a tour at the Yuengling brewery. Hopefully on a trip where my wife and I go there alone.
Awesome car. I went from a V8 Dodge Dakota with HO cams, ported headers, superchip, 3" Flowmaster exhaust, k&N cold air, active shaker, locking rear with 3.92 gears to a hybrid. You'd think I would lose my mind driving a tiny car with no teeth, but instead I love it. I drove a Civic hybrid first but now I have a Prius and truly believe it is the best car out there. I too find it more fun driving my Prius than any other car I could think of (besides maybe a Tesla). I too am amazed by how many other Prius cars are out there. I see the c and v around a lot as well. I haven't seen a plug in yet, but I know they are out there. I am still waiting for the time when the rednecks start trading in their trucks for a Prius with a pair of brass balls swinging from the rear...
Hopefully Dick Yuengling will be there for you too. It was a real treat meeting and talking with him.
Was it a weekend or weekday that he was around and you were able to speak with him? It's always great to speak to someone as knowledgeable about their business as I am sure he is.
It was a week day, and just good timing on my part. I'd recommend calling the store to see if they can tell you the possibility of him being there. In any case, he was very personable and friendly. We talked for at least 5 minutes about various aspects of their operations. The actual tour was great.
