I installed WeatherTech deflectors in early April of this year. No problems whatsoever. The instructions do say to leave the windows up for 24 - 48 hours (don't remember exactly anymore). Did that and the auto-close feature works well.

The deflectors look great and work great. Very happy - I should have bought them when I bought the car a year ago. it's a pleasure to have the front 7 rear driver's side windows open on the highway now as the Prius buffeting inside the car is eliminated. They also keep the PiP cooler when parked all day in hot weather, by leaving the windows cracked.

One unavoidable design feature: the rear windows, when cracked, have a vertical open space on their trailing edges. In a hard surprise rain, that part will let water in. My solution: if I know that a storm will come, I leave only the front windows cracked.

It would be cool to see pictures of Silver IIGen Prii with with different shades of wind deflectors.

Thank you soooooo much! The 1st set I got from Amazon came with rear clips but no instructions for them, so I didn't use them thinking they were extra parts, and lost a deflector. The 2nd set was damaged in shipping, and the 3rd set finally arrived today. I had a horrible time trying to follow WeatherTech's YouTube video and finally found your diagrams. I used your trick of waiting till I got the deflector edge sandwiched between the weather stripping and clip, before pushing the clip all the way in. Words can't express what an ordeal this was, and thanks to you, it's over and one. THANK YOU!!!!!

Your pictures and diagrams were incredibly helpful, thank you! I struggled all morning trying to figure out the clip until I came across your instructions.

One thing I did slightly different, is I used the tool from Weathertech that came with the clips. I used it in two different ways:

    1. First, I used it as they show it being used in the video and instructions, to pull down the piece of weatherstripping, and

    2. Second, I then turned it upside down, kind of on top of the clip, between the clip and the moulding piece, I used this as "leverage" and in place of the grease - the clip, after hours of struggling, popped right in. As soon as it's in correctly, you'll know, and the window deflector then fits in perfectly.

Hope that helps, because it sure isn't as easy as they make it look!

Just wanted to say thank you. Those clips are very fiddly. Not impressed with them at all. However, because of your pictures I was able to make them work. The directions that come with them should incorporate your drawings and instructions. Many thanks! Now when it isn't 100 degrees I can actually use them.

I wish I had seen this post earlier. It could have saved me the $20 to replace the one I lost last night. I called weathertech this morning and lucky for me Patricia (weathertech rep) was kind enough to give me 50% off of the original $40 price tag on a pair of rears. Thanks @2009Prius for the clear instructions. They should include a printed copy of your post with all Prius window deflector orders.

I tried using the clips and it just seems they won't fit in the channel. They don't seat properly all the way up in there. What am I doing wrong?

It's been a while but if I remember correctly the clip should fit in the channel easily without the deflector. Are you saying you can not slide the clip into the channel?

Hmm that's strange. Maybe contact the manufacturer to make sure they sent the right part. Good luck!

Help! Purchased Weathertech wind deflectors--can't get the clips to work. Weathertech sent me a link here. The weather stripping on my 2016 Prius V is nothing like the diagram on this thread. The clip won't stay in the "groove" because there is no lip inside the strip to hold it in. I've worked on this for nearly 7 hours! (With help) I put things together all the time -- I feel like I'm going insane because WTech keeps saying "try again"---any suggestions other than returning the darn things?

OK... my trials and terrors, oopps, I mean errors for the back windows with the clips...
    2015 Prius Model 2

after 2 hours of not getting the rear's installed.....this is what I did..

    Rolled down the rear windows....
Pulled the strips off the tape on both edges.
Put the cover up into the channel... (yes I did this first).
Used Weathertech's tool to pull down the "inside" rubber modeling as shown in their diagram.
Pushed the clip into the opening and then used a flat blade screw driver to push the clip all the way up into the channel.
Pushed the rubber molding back over the clip.
And pushed the cover up as much as I could into the channel..maybe another 1/4 inch as the clips grap the cover....!!!!

tada...... did both in about 5 minutes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Now I have to let it sit for 24-48 hours to mold itself..

Those clips were such a pain in the nice person I threw the rear deflectors in the garbage. The front ones work great

Anyone remember the numbers on the clips? Mines say 357 just doesn’t seem like the right ones.
