I have 3 2001 prius cars that I have repaired over the last 3 months. 1) Removed three high voltage batteries and reconditioned batteries using RC chargers to charge and discharge individual modules. Installed back in cars and are working OK. 2) Built high voltage charger using variac and rectifiers to charge HV batteries in place. I have the chinese (illegal) techstream that monitors the state of charge and charging current as I am charging and discharging the battery. Knowing the state of charge prevents overcharging the HV battery. 3) Replaced mass air flow sensor with new one - cost under $30 per vechicle. 4) Replace both front and back O2 sensors, cost under $70 for both sensors. 5) Used techstream to record data on the run for battery and engine performance, compared all three vechicles to each other. If you are attempting any of the above procedures I may be of some help to describe what I did on in more detail. Roy from Canada.
are you using techstream to log your car now? if you are then comparison could be made to my cars. My problem is that I do not understand many of the readings for the engine and thus not always sure if adjustment is needed.
