Any AZ Prius Plug-In owners?

I am in Phoenix Arizona right now and Toyota on Bell road does not sell them. Charging stations are also very rare out here. Blink charging stations all over. 2 charge points in all of Phoenix. Blink Charge $2.00 per hour.

 

if you can't buy one in az, you can get one from dianne at carson toyota in socal. they are only sold in about 15 states.

 

If they want to go to the trouble, dealers can buy the PiP from dealers in other states and have it shipped to them.

 

I bought both our PIP's at Carson Toyota and they treated me great.

 

I am in Tucson. When I take my PIP in for Toyotacare service, a crowd gathers. The sales people stand there asking me questions, lol. A PIP is a rare sight! I see more Tesla Model S than PIPs.

While there, I asked the sales staff why there are zero PIPs on the lot. They said they opted out of being a zev store due to only selling a couple PIPs. Apparently Desert Toyota, too.

I purchased one of the last ones at PowerToyota in PHX. It was scheduled to be shipped to another dealer out of state. They pulled it from the shipment and sold it to me.

 

At least the staff there are educated enough to know what it is. I don't get even a second look at the local dealership because I honestly believe a lot of them don't even know about the existence of a Plug In Prius.

 

I needed to find a notary to satisfy TN in getting a temp tag for my Prius and pulled into a Toyota dealer to save the longer drive to my bank. I was approached by a salesman who asked "what trim level is that?"

 

I bought mine at Findlay Toyota in Flagstaff when they originally came out. They maintain them and presumably still sell them.

Any dealer can maintain the prius plug-in after they buy it.
70AARCUDA should just go buy the car in California from Dianne W. Do maintance at their local dealer. All is good.

 

My one year experience on PriusChat, the Gen III Prius have very few problems and the same for the PIP. Wouldn't any local Toyota dealer be obligated to perform warranty work on a Plug In? Toyota is a huge company and has plenty of qualified mechanics with PIP knowledge base. As a former Air Force aircraft mechanic, we often worked on a variety of different transient aircraft models than those we worked on a daily basis. I would expect a high level of competency regardless of where I needed service.

 

Regardless of where a Pip is serviced, just make sure the service advisor says that they are able to freely contact, and receive advice from, Toyota Technical Service if a problem arises that local dealer service dept cannot handle.

I bought in VA and live in GA, a non-pip selling state.

I made a point of having a conversation with local dealer service dept before purchasing out of state, and that's the first thing he said. So far, no problems.

the more I read tho, it seems not all Toyota service depts are created equal.

Toyota's Website shows 16 Dealers in Arizona which offer Prius Plug-in Sales, including Precision.
