All Weather FloorMats

How happy R U with your C2 ? Reason I ask is, I'm kinda hedging between wanting a C2 -vs- a C3....I know the differences, just wondering aloud which is the wiser purchase--for me? Also, was Habanero your 1st choice? I'm wavering between Red & Habanero. :rockon:Thanks in advance,

once i saw habanero.. i wanted it.. so it was my first choice... the only other color i liked.. and seems to be a bit rare is the summer rain.

i rarely see the summer rain compared to the other colors... however i think the most elusive so far is the moonglow.. as i have yet to see the color in person. (and i work at a dealership too!)

i'm happy with the C2.. even though the smart key would be really nice to have.. i really didn't need the other extra stuff the C3 has... and wasn't willing to pay the extra just to get that one feature.

what's wise for you is a decision you have to ultimately make.. i can't really help you except say that i'm happy with mine.

Haven't seen the Habanero in person, but the color does seem brilliant! I hear ya' about the smartkey--our 2012 MAZDA3 S GT has it & it's nice not having to use a key for anything! It also has a sunroof, Alloy Wheels, Leather, NAV, etc. but don't really need TWO vehicles w/all the bells 'N' whistles. Can always find aftermarket wheels--and how often does anyone really USE their moonroof? Seldom in our case. I really do love the 6-spd manual, not offered on Prius C, but 53 mpg is better than 32 we're getting w/the Mazda, so...thanks for giving me something to think about! I appreciate it!

I got the all weather mats and am disappointed with them. I've owned Weather Tech floor mats before and although pricier than the Toyota brand they are superior in quality and they don't slide around. The Toyota mats cost me $80? at the dealer and I installed them when they were delivered. I just don't like how they slide on the carpet. You would think they would have some kind of no-slip underside. I say go with the molded all-weather mats from an after market company.

 

when and if weathertech makes them.. i'd say go with that. they've always had some really good products.

the driver mat should have the two mounting points to keep it from sliding around a bit.. are those two points not working or helping?

 

Make sure to fasten them down, but also don't install them on top of the carpeted matt. It's one or the other.

 

They are not on top of the carpet mats and they are fastened using the quarter turn Toyota fasteners. The driver side mat won't slide forward while driving but will slide backward when I move my feet around. I don't think it's a safety issue unless you get your feet tangled up. You know carpeted mats have velcro like nubs on the bottom for grip. These mats do not.

 

Yes, the Weathertech mats are always so much beefier and better made than the factory all-weather mats, but I couldn't wait for Weathertech to come out with a new template, so I found the Toyota mats for cheap and just got them. Although not nearly as substantial as the WT mats, I don't think that the Toyota ones are all that bad, but they are a little short and don't cover as much as the WT mats, plus there is no protection for the quasi-dead pedal (big disappointment to me).

 

Will the mats from an Echo fit in the Prius C?

 

Just my two cents on floor mats. I bot Husky rubber mats 18 years ago for my Camry. They have served me well and still appear and feel as new. When I bought my Prius last summer, I despised the cheap mats that came in them. They were like pieces of slippery paper. I immediately moved the Husky mats (very similar to the Weathertech rubber mats) to my Prius and put the cheap ones in my "second" car (Camry). The heavy Husky rubber mats, which are very similar to Weathertech rubber mats, over the years have caught many a soda spill instead of it getting on the carpet. When I lived in Wisconsin, the mats contained the melting snow (and mud) on the mat itself.

I am now looking hard at the "digitally" cut Weathertech mats and the Husky Weatherbeater floor liners for the Prius and moving the existing Husky mats back to the Camry. Reviews on both are excellent. The Weatherbeaters are about $112-120 for a set for the front while the Husky(s) are about $128 for both the front and the back seat areas. May go with the Huskys getting both front and rear for the price of just the front with Weathertech. Reviews are so close, I don't think I can go wrong while saving the $80.

 

I was in the same dilemma with the all weather mats. I was going to buy the toyota mats, but being that they are too short I went with the husky set. I got the front and rear set for $99 shipped. Their is a thread with the info on them somewhere on here.

 

Weathertech. Our people have probably bought more than a hundred floor mats for wide spread of vehicles without a single complaint. Remarkable. Most car mags have their ads. their phone number is 800-441-6287. They fit pretty snug with not a lot of area not covered but see for yourself.

 

I have a regular Prius. I live in Chicago. When I bought my car I bought the Toyota black all weather mats. I think they are crap. Finally about one month ago I bought the WEATHERTECH digitally measured mats. They fit perfect. I threw the Toyota mats away. The Toyota mats did not have good coverage and my carpets got dirty because of the winter slush. No problem with the WEATHERTECH mats. Far superior to Toyota.

 

I have the husky liners which I like because the cover the left side driver footrest over the left front wheel well. Other liners leave this carpet exposed.

I have not seen husky mats so you could be right.

 

I have the weathertech floor liners and love em, had em in several vehicles over the years. Perfect fit and complete coverage. I can post some pics if you wish.

 

I have always used Weathertech but this time I bought Husky and I actually like them better. They fit better though I haven't tried Weathertech on my Prius C but compared to my other cars. Husky are a better deal also.
