Oil Change Today (Sunday) Palo Alto/Mnt View?

    We ended up driving to Mountain View from Los Angeles with last minute notice yesterday, our first long trip in the Prius.

    I'd really like to get the oil changed today before we drive back home, but the local Toyota dealership's service department is not open on Sunday.

    Does anyone have a local Jiffy Lube type place that they would actually be willing to recommend? I would appreciate a recommendation.

    Gilroy Toyota is open on Sundays, assuming you are going back via 101 you could go there if you really want to hit a Toyota dealer.

    That might work out for us. Have you used their service department and been happy with it?


    We are still stuck in Mountain View for a chunk of the day so it would be more convenient to handle it here if anybody has a place they like, but we can most likely manage to get to Gilroy before they close. I'll contact them to find out the last time they will accept a car for an oil change.

    I've only had once oil change done so far. I have used them as I did the prepaid service and they are close to me. No complaints. I don't check the oil fill amount as closely as a lot of people on this board so I can't comment on how they do there. I did have to reset my tire pressure, but I also did not tell them otherwise.

    So in short, not a lot to tell, but no major complaints.

    Not totally sure about their hours today, so you should probably call and see.

    If they do not work out, there is a Jiffy Lube on 1st street in Gilroy, near Nob Hill. I have used them a lot, they have been really great.

    Capitol Toyota in San Jose is also open today. Have not used them but it might work if you can't make it to Gilroy in time....

    It is probably too late for this comment, but why not wait until you go home to get your oil changed? A couple hundres miles one way or another on the oil isn't going to do any damage or risk anything.
