Charge time

    Can you over charge your battery's with the plug in. Example plug in home from work 6:30 pm and un plug at 6:00 am. Yes I know about the timer but I didn't want to use I just want to plug in when I get home and un plug when I leave the next day. ?????????

    No, once the battery reaches an SOC of 85%, charging stops.

    SOC=State of Charge

    Does it go to a trickle charge or does it go 100% off. ??? Thanks

    As far as I can tell, it goes completely off. I don't use a Kill-A-Watt but There's no activity from what I can tell once the charger stops. The light on the plug-in port shuts off and brick at the wall is completely cold.

    There must be a tickle as the 12V battery has float charge on it as long as the car is plugged in.

    I'd also think there has to be some thing there since you can remotely start the A/C while it's plugged in and the charge should resume. I've never tried it though.

    There is a little gnome in there tickling the battery trying to coax it into taking more. ;)

    After a charge, the PIP turns off the connection. My Kill-A-Watt then shows 0.003 amps, 1.1 watts. That's not a trickle charge. That's the circuit and led on the Brick.

    You cannot even trickle charge a "full" Lithium-ion battery without risking fire or explosion. The circuits in the car have some continual drain, but the battery itself cannot be receiving ANY charge once it is "full". When charging completes, a relay in the EVSE opens disconnecting the high voltage from the car.
