that's the normal thing? like when I accelerate from a stop, using the throttle only very lightly, the car stays in ev mode, but the eco indicator is on, too. (I confirmed with torque, that the ice is not running) should it be this way or should just the ev indicator light up?
oh ya, ya. eco is a mode that controls throttle response and hvac. ev attempts to keep ice off when inside all control parameters. when you press eco/normal/power, it stays there unless you change it. ev can be selected or will fill in the icon when car auto enters it.
jdk2: that's what I thought. but every time my speed gets quicker than walking speed, the eco sign shows up (even with the ice NOT running).
EV can be on and ECO off if PWR or Normal modes are selected. You'd still have EV on at low speed. ECO/PWR/Normal just sets throttle mapping. EV indicates that the car is being propelled by electric.
They can both be on at the same time or each can be on regardless of what the other one is displaying. They're totally independent of one another. ECO shows that you've depressed the ECO button on the dash at some time. EV shows that the ICE is not running. EV will also be displayed when you depress the EV button on the dash. Push the PWR button on the dash or depress the ECO button again and the ECO in your display will disappear.
