Just curious how to do this as I saw my first gen 3 on the road with the left head light out.

    Post links please.

    Thanks all,

Left side is an easy fix. The right is difficult.

As for passenger side, you don't necessarily have to unbolt the air intake. I could reach that bulb but I have small hands and I knew where the bulb was located.

Make sure you are aligning the tabs correctly when putting the bulb back. One of the tabs are bigger than the others and should firmly lock into place if you put it in correctly. You turn the bulb counter clockwise to take the bulb out so make a note of that when putting the bulb back.

I found that the bulb on my gen3 is not seated properly (low light output and light leak into the engine compartment). Since I don't know how it was exactly seated the last time, does the bulb go in at the 9 o'clock position (if looking from the back of the car) and then turn it to the 6 o'clock position?

Alternatively, does the bulb go in exactly like on the driver's side, or is it mirror imaged?

I believe it goes in at the 3 o'clock position and turns to the 6 o'clock position to lock in on both sides if looking from the back.

Thanks. That did the trick. I was unsuccessfully trying to work it in from the 9 o'clock position; doing it the other way was pretty straightforward once I got the angle right. They sure don't put a lot of slack in that cable.

I found that putting a shop towel by the intake and other sharp bits reduced the scrapes on my arm considerably.

H9 bulbs modified to fit in H11 mount. Link to information in my signature below. Watch the excellent video posted by mediahound at the end of the thread.

Premium H11 bulbs are way overpriced. Quality H9 bulbs like Osram and Philips are about $20 a pair and put out 50% more light than H11 bulbs.
